Program Details

We are looking for someone who enjoys cooking and wants to be part of our culinary team.

At Casa Bartô, you will support our kitchen in the preparation of dishes, production and organization during operating days.

We are a small restaurant located in a special place on the banks of Lagoa de Furnas, in Santo Hilário. Here, the kitchen is quite dynamic and we value people who have initiative, organization, agility and pleasure in cooking.

We are not looking for someone just to perform tasks: we want a person who likes to learn, exchange experiences and work as a team.

As we are a small team, we also expect some flexibility to collaborate in other operation activities when necessary.

Experience in kitchen is desirable, especially with production, pre-preparation and restaurant service. If you know how to cook, are responsible and eager to learn, we want to meet you.

Foreign travelers are also very welcome. Not speaking Portuguese does not prevent the application: we can adapt communication and activities to the volunteer's profile.

Activities & Shift

The activities take place during the day, following the operation of Casa Bartô.

Pre-preparation and production of the foods;
Support in plating and final touches of the dishes;
Support during restaurant service;
Organization and cleaning of the kitchen;
Sanitation and storage of food;
Organization of supplies and equipment;
Support to the team during periods of higher movement;
Collaboration with other areas of the operation when necessary.

Workload: approximately 6 to 8 hours per day, on days when Casa is operating, with 3 days off per week, previously arranged with the team.

The schedule is mainly in the morning and afternoon. We currently do not work with dinner service.

For foreigners who do not yet speak Portuguese, we can adapt some activities and the way of communication according to the experience and profile of each person.
