I stayed for 2 weeks. The family was warm, hospitable and respectful. The family (parents and adult children) live in the house and are very busy but I was invited to join their activities. I went to market with Sabina and met friendly locals and stall holders, picked and learnt about local fruits and other crops that grow on the family chakra and was invited to go with Joel to his bee hives. Sabina is an excellent cook, always insisting that I eat or try some fresh fruit on the chakra and has endless energy. I was taken on local outings. The work was light and enjoyable.

I stayed for a few weeks with the project and Sabina, and their adult children, John, Joel and Sarai. I had a very comfortable private room. Sabina prepared most of the meals, which were quite amazing peruvian dishes. They would also often take me to eat in local restaurants, which were quite nice. The work was quite rewarding and I got to learn a lot of things. I worked with bees, and in the vegetable farm and I had a lot of flexibility with my hours. They cared a lot about my happiness and I was always treated like a member of the family. I would like to thank them all, especially Sarai.

They make sure you are well fed for breakfast, lunch and dinner and will always give you somthing to do if you feel as though you dont have enough to do. Here you will learn about farming techniques and will be able to eat fresh Peruvian fruits straight off the trees if you wish. You may also be able to meet other international or Peruvian volunteers during your stay. You will get the chance to have close interactions with friends of the family and locals in the community, making for a truly emmersive cultural experience.

They are a very hardworking family. I took on days with different tasks; from the first day Sarai asked me what I would like to do the most, and I told them that a bit of everything, so I could see a bit of everything. Joel taught me about wasps, very professional; another day I was at the farm with the proyeto, a very kind man, the meals delicious, always from the mother 🫶😊 and one day I went to see how their work was, Sarai and Moisés, I laughed a lot... I could use the gym whenever I wanted and they were always very attentive to make sure I was comfortable, great experience ♥️ thanks 😊

Holà todos ! Mi experiencia en la huerta el proyeto Sabina fue más allá de lo que esperaba. Durante dos semanas vivi como en casa, ellos me trataron como parte de su familia ! La comida aquí es fresca y deliciosa (seguro gané un poco de peso ^^) y la casa muy cómoda. El trabajo es simple, ayudar a sembrar y cosechar los productos de la huerta, aprendi mucho mientras eso. Ayudé también un poco en la construcción del gimnasio así que los futuros voluntariados podrán hacer muchos músculos ! Gracias a Doña Sabina, Don el proyeto, Joel, John, Saraii y Tito para ofrecerme un tiempo tan lindo.

Toda la familia Gamonal son unas personales increíbles, aprendí un montón de ellos y realmente estoy agradecida con cada uno. No te hacen sentir como que tienes tareas específicas. Participé con la señora Sabrina en cosecha de frutas y verduras como plantas en general! También participé junto a Joel viendo sus colmenas y aprendí sobre las abejas. Una mención para Sofia que fue una anfitriona increíble! Sin duda una familia con muchos valores y con mucho que compartir.

Me siento realmente bendecida por haber estado en una familia tan linda, tan noble,.tan trabajadora...... Desde el primer día sentí como si estuviera en mi casa, su cordialidad y amabilidad fue increíble, todos con sus sonrisas permanentes siempre, gratas conversaciones y risas fueron parte de mi estadia en ese hogar, tuve la posibilidad de sembrar unas papayas que fue muy significativo para mí ya que no lo había hecho antes, las labores eran muy sencillas aunque nunca sentí que estaba cumpliendo con una tarea, porque hice lo quee gusta y aprendí algo del campo Yo soy bendecida por estar ahí

Fue una experiencia muy linda, tanto Don the project como doña Sabina nos hicieron sentir como en casa, fuimos uno más de su familia. Además pudimos ayudar en la cosecha de la yuca the project diferentes tipos de fruta. La huerta es grande y muy variada y Joel, su hijo,nos enseñó sobre apicultura, y Saraí nos mostró la ciudad. En realidad una familia muy amorosa y dispuesta a ayudar. además el lugar se encuentra cerca de los sitios arquelógicos para visitar.
