Mel's farm was great for my 1st volunteer opportunity, I was here for a month and in that time I got to know the surrounding area quite a bit and the task where straight forward, I had my own room, and we had plenty of food. If you like mountains and not afraid of work this place Is great.

I've really enjoyed my stay at Mel's farm! The tasks were physical and simple; moving/cutting wood, cleaning shit from the staples and other easy jobs. You could prepare yourself food whenever you liked. If you would like to clear your mind from the city life with cows dogs and much more cats, this the perfect fit for you! Being in the nature, swimming in the nearby waterfalls and visiting historica towns are worth doing in your free time. All by all I recommend this place!

I had a wonderful stay at Mel's farm! Mel is incredibly lovely and full of fascinating local knowledge. The experience is fully immersive and surrounded by nature, with beautiful nearby towns to explore on days off—the closest is a pleasant 45-minute walk.

The work is fair and manageable: 4 hours daily with great schedule flexibility, bar a few time-sensitive tasks. Living in the main farmhouse gives an authentic feel, complete with a private room and shared kitchen/bathroom. Food is abundant, you can pick fresh produce from the garden, and Mel generously keeps the pantry fully stocked.

The experience was great!!! If you want to live through a real farm experience, and physical work, that option is for you. Mel is a great person. He gives you space for your own things and also the working schedule is on you. I had an opportunity to meet international friends with whom I could practice my Spanish, which makes me very happy. Thanks for all!!!

Working at Mel's farm is a truly rewarding experience. The work can be tough at times, but nothing unmanageable at all. The accommodations are very comfortable, and you get to choose when you work. Mel is a warm and welcoming host, every conversation I had with him was a pleasant one. He even provides clothes to work in so you don't dirty your own. All in all, I would highly recommend this experience to those who want to learn more about the farm lifestyle, love nature, and don't mind getting a little dirty.

This was my first ever experience volunteering, amd it was amazing. Ever since from the first message Mel is an amazing host that will always be friendly and make you feel welcome. The work sometimes was a bit monotonous, but it is perfect to gain real experience on the everyday life of having cows. The conditions were good, although, due to the presence of many cats, that are only in a certain part of the house, it sometimes could get a bit messy there, and not good for those with allergies. Other than that, it os an absolutely unique experience!

Responsible with food. Varied food. Volunteer schedules are respected. There is not Wifi. It is a bit far from the urban area and there is nothing to go there with. There is no heating. There are many animals, if you suffer from allergies, keep this in mind. The subject does not socialize much, but is respectful.

If you want to be connected with nature, animals and a rural place, the farm's farm is what you needed!! All was like we were expecting, tasks were sometimes hard but ok too. The house is nice and heated by a wood stove, we slept very well and food was simply great (everything organic from the vegetable garden) and you have many choices, you won't be hungry. About Mel he is very kind and a very cheese master! Making ricotta was just amazing and interesting!! Grazie e alla prossima!

I spent two months with Mel and the experience was very nice.

I learned a lot about life on a farm: crops, care of animals, maintenance and different ways of living a more self-sustaining life, such as preparing and storing wood for the winter.

Mel is a very cool, friendly and upbeat person, and I always felt comfortable during the stay.

The work is about four hours a day, it’s flexible and mainly physical, so you need to be willing to stay active.

The meals are plentiful and living together was very good. I take away lessons and memories
