This was my first experience, and I received a very warm the farm. Every member of the family had a unique personality and energy. However, the person I spent the most time with and grew to like the most was the priest's mother. She is a very kind and caring woman. One of my favorite parts was eating healthy, homemade food made from fresh local farm products. The priest's wife taught me how to make goat cheese from fresh goat's milk, and I even milked a goat myself once. It was a great experience.

My stay at the farm had beautiful moments and some challenges. I found it difficult to feel included, as most conversations were in Serbian, making it hard to connect. We also had the same task throughout my two-week stay, and I was hoping for more variety. That said, Miloš and his family are kind, the house is comfortable, the nature is beautiful, the animals are adorable, and the food was always delicious! it reminded me of Colombian home cooking. I'm grateful for the experience

My time in Desine was perfect. Milos and his family make you feel at home since day one. The food is really good and the place is peaceful, you can really dive into the local culture. The volunteers stay in a very cozy house where you have everything you need. The tasks are very simple: helping with animals, helping in kitchen, painting, cleaning, there are many activities to do and you do what fits you.

After spending some time with Miloš and his family, I have made so many memories in such little time and couldn't be more grateful to them for this opportunity. I think the way of life in their village is admirable and I haven't a bad word to say about my stay. I think the Serbian Orthodox Church is magical and I really enjoyed my time at the Liturgies and spending time with the locals afterwards as some of my fondest memories were made then. The whole family are amazing and I dearly miss the amazing cooking. I hope anyone who visits can have as much fun as I did. It's a brilliant experience!!

An unforgettable and unique experience. You truly become part of Milos and Dragana's family — including the grandmas and kids, who all make you feel as home. It's a great opportunity to experience authentic Orthodox family life. Work can be physically demanding but always rewarding and done at a relaxed pace with proper breaks. Not ideal for vegans, as local food is a big part of the experience. The village is remote, so it's perfect if you enjoy nature and peaceful solitude. If you're open-minded and ready to embrace a different way of life, this experience is absolutely worth it.
