My experience at the hostel has been amazing! Francisca,the owner, and all the stuff really pour all their effort into making the hostel a welcoming and comfortable place. The room and the facilities were very comfortable and clean. The work is easy and fair, plus the benefits received in exchange are more than satisfying. I want to emphasize how lovely and welcoming Maria, Luana and Francisca have been with me, I've always felt at home! Moreover Esmoriz is a lovely place for those who love nature, surfing and meeting locals! I can only recommend and I hope to be back :)

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I had a lovely time in Be happy! The staff is super friendly and make u feel welcome since moment 0 and I truly enjoy working with them.
The tasks involved preparing the breakfast buffet and the cleaning the rooms. Some days we finished early while others were more demanding. Just keep in mind that you share a room with guests.
The location is amazing and u are surrounded by beautiful beaches. I highly recommend this experience if you’re looking for a place to slow down, relax, immerse yourself in the culture and enjoy surf lessons!

Staying and working at BeHappy was an amazing experience. The staff are super kind and they genuinely care about making you feel at home.
Esmoriz has its own unique charm. It's peaceful, with both the beach and the forest just nearby, it’s the perfect place to slow down and reconnect with nature.

The entire staff at the hostel made me feel at home from the very first moment. Whenever something unexpected came up, they helped me work it out and were flexible with the schedule. It's a great place to unwind and slow down. It's not a party hostel, but it's perfect if you want to reconnect with yourself and nature. It was a great experience :)

It was honestly a really good experience, could enjoy a lot of local food in the dinner nights with the guests, had a really good surf classes with nice teachers and, the staff of the hostel and manager were amazing, they helped me in everything I needed, they were flexible with schedules, let u the bike to go anywhere and even helped me to get to the supermarket to take some food. The town is calm but it has somes vibes depend on the time u get there. Easy job and lot of great people arround.

What can I say about the hostel, Francisca, María, and María… they are truly wonderful people. This month in Esmoriz has been even more rewarding than I ever imagined. I arrived with high expectations and I leave with even higher ones. The people I met, the little things they taught me, the culture, the town, the atmosphere...it's all simply magical. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventure in such a beautiful corner of Portugal. Every place has its stories, and this one is definitely unforgettable. Love you the hostel team. Pura Vida!!!

It was a pleasure to work with Francisca and both Maria's and I couldn't have asked for a better first volunteer experience! If you want to be close to the beach and emerge yourself with locals and Portuguese culture, then this is the place!

My experience at BE HAPPY Hostel in Esmoriz was incredible! The town is small, peaceful, and just a few steps from the beach — perfect if you're looking to surf, relax, and disconnect. I came to improve my surfing and was definitely worth it!. I met good people, had so much fun, and got to experience the local culture — delicious Portuguese food, music, and traditions. The BE HAPPY staff is by far the best I've ever worked with: super friendly, relaxed, flexible, and they really trust you with your tasks. Thank you for everything, and I hope to see you again!
