The work is on a farm which can be very physically demanding at times. My goal was to learn about farm life and work outdoors and this experience met all of my expectations. Jan was a great host. However, he was very busy with his own work on the farm so we rarely got to work with him personally. Regardless of how busy he was, he cooked us very good meals at the end of every work day. There was plenty of food for us to eat and we were welcome to help ourselves to anything.
The accommodations were outstanding. It was like staying at a nice airbnb

It was a really nice experience. It was my first volunteering so I had some doubts or nerves, but I'm happy I came. The working hours are exactly as described. During my time, I did different activities:: cider bottling, removing branches from the floor, adding calcium and fertilizer, labeling, transplanting trees, and more (farm work).
Also, the cats are part of the experience 💙😺.
Finally, I had a really good time with the other volunteers with I shared this experience.

So it was my first volunteer experience ever, and it was amazing ! I stayed 4 weeks, I cleaned the branches, spread fertilizer and calcium, fed the animals, bottled, labled, cleaned bottles, planted trees and picked dead trees. if you don't mind a little elevation and you like all kind of weather you will love it ! Plus the view is stunning (all the time) ! I also spent hours fishing (caught two fish !) and hiking of course ! Jan is an excellent cook and a lovely person who will make you feel at home ! As a women who is traveling alone, I rarely felt as safe as I did here :) thank you Jan !

I stayed at the Farm in Feburary, some of the time we were working inside, like bottleling and preparing orders.
But a we also worked outside a lot, pruning trees, so if you dont mind being outside in every kind of weather, i would definetely recommend!
The Place is stunning, Jan Ove is a kind person and the cats are lovely ^^

My stay at Jan Oves farm was a nice experience! The farm is located in a rural area, youve got a beautiful view of the mountains and the Fjord and is great for hiking, even though it is hard to do so in winter. We did a lot of botteling, labeling and pruning. Pruning can be quite exhausting depending on the weather conditions, but it was managable! Jan Ove is a really friendly person, who knows a lot about the region and who will supply you with everything you need. He also has the loveliest cats! <3

We had a great time on Jan's apple farm, with a veeery beautiful mountains and ocean around, fun cats and cozy house. The area around has really beautiful hikes, though in winter it's too snowy. As we were there in January, the job was mostly cutting wood on a wood splitter and packing orders of juice (labeling bottles and putting them in boxes). Jan was kind to cook for us pretty often. Thank you! :)

Jan was very kind and respectful since the first moment we met and he always provided for us of all we needed.
The place is stunning, the food is very good (Jan knows how to cook very well!), the working hours were always respected and the work itself was very enjoyable.
We even managed to see the aurora twice :)
The cats are lovely and you can enjoy some good hikes on the mountains around.
Jan knows a lot of things and always answered my countless questions calmly and wisely, in this place you can learn a lot. Absolutely recommended! Thank you again! :)))

We had a very good time staying with Jan ove for four weeks. He is not the most extroverted person you will ever meet, but he is very nice, welcoming and respectful and will help you with anything you need when you ask him. Tabea on the other hand is very extroverted and will do anything to make you feel included. We stayed in the small house and is was very cozy, and warm when you light the fireplace. The view on the fjord is amazing and you can da lot of hiking tours in the mountains. There are also a lot of cats. Thank you for the experience 🫶🏻
