I stayed a month at the hostel and it was a big surprise. It was my first time in Costa Rica and I discovered the true beauty of this country. It's a quiet place in the heart of the jungle, it was a very good discovery, like something I've never known before. The work is easy, but for me, the schedule needs more organization. The staff is really nice and I had such a good time being part of the hostel family. I highly recommend it to someone looking for an unforgettable experience. Also get ready to live in the middle of the jungle and in a small town.

My time at the hostel was amazing. It was my first volunteer experience and definitely succeeded my expectations. Although the volunteer do get a lot of responsibility, the schedule was kept fair and you had enough time to explore beautiful Drake Bay on your days off. Thank you to everyone at the hostel for making me feel so welcome and at home!

Drake Bay is the most beautiful place I've ever visited. The slower pace took a little getting used to, but once I settled in, I didn't want to leave. The hostel location is stunning and I enjoyed getting to know the guides/staff who are really knowledgeable and a lot of fun. This experience was the perfect balance between connecting with both people and nature. I'd absolutely recommend it!

My time at the hostel was so exciting. Estefanie was like a Costa Rican mami and the rest of the guides and staff became good friends. Sometimes the vibes were a little chaotic but I also had some of the most fun experiences. I really got to connect to nature here and it changed my perspective on life!! So much love 🫶

I'm so grateful to the hostel for my time spent there, everyone was so welcoming and friendly and they let you go on amazing tours. It definitely takes getting used to being so far away from urbanisation but when you adjust it's an incredible experience! I'm so grateful that despite having a family emergency and having to leave earlier than planned, everyone was so kind and accommodating and even threw me a goodbye party! It's truly a one of a kind experience being here and I appreciate everyone who made me feel so welcome xx pura vida!

My time at the hostel was some of the best times in my life, I had so much fun volunteering here. It was my first time doing a volunteer program and it was the best result I could have expected. Esthefanie and everyone were so welcoming and fun I felt right at home, I met many people and formed some great friendships with so many amazing people. The work load wasn't too demanding and you still have time to explore and go on tours. the hostel and Drake Bay will definitely be missed and I highly recommend it to anyone interested you won't regret it!

My time in drake surpassed all my expectations, it was an unforgettable experience with unforgettable people. The little hostel in the little bay turned out to be fun and adventurous, always something going on. Definitely got to experience the tico culture. Big thank you to the hostel staff!

I absolutely loved my time at the hostel. If you want to experience Costa Rica off the beaten path, Drake Bay is the place to go. The staff went out of their way to make me feel welcome and comfortable, especially Estefanie, who is the heart and soul of the hostel. Worldpacker volunteers are essential to the running of the hostel, and although you have a lot of responsibility, you also have a lot of free time. If you are looking for nature, local culture, and an experience you will remember for the rest of your life, this is it.

I had an amazing time in drake bay! It might take a while to get used to Drake Bay due to its remoteness and location in the jungle but once you're settled it's great! The location of the hostel surrounded by nature allows you to spot wildlife on property grounds. The entire the hostel team but especially the host esthefanie made me feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. I was there during low season so the work was very easy and uncomplicated. The volunteers do have a lot of responsibility but the tasks are simple and easy to learn.

I recommend it to anyone who loves nature, but especially to those who enjoy learning about a new culture. Host Estefanie is one of the sweetest, most caring, and kind-hearted people I have ever met in my life. She will make you feel at home from your very first steps and ensure that you know how to dance before you leave :)) During my stay, I was able to enjoy the tranquility that the hostel offers while also forming friendships with fellow nature enthusiasts. The work isn't too difficult, and Estefanie will guide you while also giving you the freedom to take initiative on your own !!
