My experience at Ceiba was amazing, all the staff and volunteers I met treated me so well, it felt like a second family. I felt really understood, Lara was an incredible host she always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Its my second volunteering experience and I couldn't have dreamed of anything better. Thank you for that beautiful 2 months that I spend with you and I will definitely be back 🙂↕️

My three weeks volunteering here were so much fun. They flew by.\nSpecial thank you to Lara for being so understanding and considerate of my needs.\nI loved working the bar, planning and hosting different games, it's a great way to make friends with guests.\nI enjoyed working with Edith on housekeeping a handful of times too.\nThe other volunteers/ staff were such awesome people and really made the time special.

I really enjoyed my volunteer experience here that I decided to extend another week. I met so many amazing people: guests, staff, and fellow volunteers, and made great memories along the way. The owners take care of the volunteers. My tasks included reception work, helping George with housekeeping, and working at the bar selling beers and hosting games. It was a fun, social, and rewarding experience that I would definitely recommend to other volunteers. I will surely miss the staff, Mate, Alma, and Licky.

What made my experience truly special were the friendships I built with strangers, guests, and fellow volunteers, learning to use colones as my everyday currency, and pushing myself out of my comfort zone by hosting game nights and even stepping into the role of a “bartender” selling beers.

I had a great experience at the hostel and enjoyed my stay there so much! The owners and workers there were so kind and nice, they work as a great team, very organised in details. My task was at the reception, check in and check out and helping some beddings and when the guests left etc. I improved my Spanish because of them. I also met so many great travellers and made a lot of new friends from all around the world! Supermarket was like 2-3 mins walk away. Always clean and the kitchen was well equipped. I loved my experience there! Thank you so much for having me! Arigato!

My stay at the hostel was amazing Aaron and Lara are amazing people and made my first solo trip amazing! Only thing to be weary about is the work schedule 6 days on can fill like quite a lot but you still have the time to do amazing activities with discounts!

La Fortuna was amazing!! I got to meet the most amazing people from all over the world and be able to network and create long lasting bonds with other volunteers as well. The hours and work are overall very chill and depending on your tasks for the day they may range from housekeeping or basic reception work. Definitely would recommend this to anyone who wants to start their travels in Costa Rica or in Centroamérica. :)

My experience here was absolutely amazing 🤩! Lara was an incredible host, all the staff were welcoming, & the other volunteers were extremely friendly! We did a lot of things together so you never really felt alone. It truly felt like a little community!🤗 Tasks were very manageable. It was 5 hours a day at reception as promised with 1 day off! Some days you also get to work the bar & host the game nights, which I was extremely good at! The guest enjoyed it & it was always so much fun😄 The tours offered were surreal! Overall this was a 10/10 experience & I definitely recommend😁🙌🏽

The owner’s dog regularly slept under my bed and damaged my suitcase, backpack, and flashlight. I was understanding about the backpack/flashlight and only asked for a suitcase replacement since I still had travels ahead. After over a week of reassurance, I was offered $50 the night before leaving and told to go to Walmart hour away for new one, despite having no car(she knew abt the $85 suitcase)across street. The dog also bites, and a warning sign was posted. Dog threw up all over my room. No bike availability and horrible beds for volunteers at Ceiba. Management and other workers were nice.
