My stay at Pola de Allande was truly wonderful! Stef is an amazing host, he gives volunteers a lot of space for their own initiative I had an opportunity to learn how to cook vegetarians meals (falafels, soups and many others) because we ate only vegetarian, it was delicious! What I recommend is to plan your free days ahead of time to talk with other volunteers so they will do your work for you this day :)) Pola de Allande is a really small village but there is everything you need, there is even a church really close!

Hey, I had a great experience at the guest house peregrino. It was my first time doing a volunteering like this, and I am glad I did it. It felt like home and every activity felt like you were doing it at your home, with no pressure. The town is beautiful, surrounded with nature and everything is really peaceful. I was glad to meet Stef and other volunteers during the stay as they made my time memorable. Grateful for the opportunity.

I had an amazing experience over the busiest month of Aug in the guest house,. The work can be hard! dinner preparation and other jobs can be continuous in some way, lots to remember to keep pilgrims happy and the jobs done. Stef welcomes you to his home or picks you if needed, he showed us volunteers to our rooms, introduced us to others and showed us around the house and the village. Stef expects you to be proactive and read notes around the house, tasks are up to us volunteers to distribute among ourselves, it's important you get along with others, communicate well., it's beautiful experience <3

I had a lovely stay at the guest house! From the moment I arrived, Stef and the rest of the volunteers made me feel at home - such amazing people. It was great environment to work in, and I throughly enjoyed the local town and surrounding nature. If you are looking to meet many interesting people and hear amazing stories from them, definitely volunteer here!

My first volunteering experience and I really enjoyed it! It's in a small peaceful village with many walks to do. I loved hearing pilgrim's stories and experiences being on the camino, helping me learn more about it while my time there, also helping me improve my spanish and italian. The working hours are normally dependant on how many pilgrims/customers come to the hostel and how many choose to also join for dinner so it does vary, not set hours & more flexibility based, majority of the time decided who does what by volunteers. You need to ask for your free days each week day before

A truly special place. my time here was beautiful, peaceful, fun and profound :) tasks made complete sense and felt like taking care of my own home. team (quite big and varied!) feels like an odd little family with its quirks and endless laughter. Stef is a fantastic human being and the kindest host. learned to cook here (it was unavoidable & thank god :33 practical tips: be proactive and not shy to learn about what needs to be done, initiative and self-sufficiency is essential. choose (and take!) all your free days to explore stunning mountains around!!!!

I had a really nice time volunteering here. It was a great experience to meet many pilgrims who have been traveling for weeks with only their backpacks. I liked learning about their lives.

Stef is really respectful person. The daily tasks were easy and short, so I had a lot of free time during the day. and the kitchen had everything you need to cook. Also, the rooms and bathrooms were clean, which made the stay comfortable.
The village has amazing nature, you should go for a walk in the village.
It was a wonderful experience for me and I totally recommend this place.

I had a wonderful time at the guest house. Stef was always there to help when needed and always including all the volunteers in many social events that happen in town. The work and hours were very fair with lots of 'down time'. And because it's right next to the river you can take a swim! The accommodations were nice and as promised. If you are someone who enjoys nature/the Camino and small towns you will love it. There is always a task for everyone (cleaning, gardening, cooking, handy work, painting). I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves nature🥾!
