Program Details
Our volunteer program is designed to create a fun, welcoming, and social atmosphere where travelers can meet, connect, and make unforgettable memories.
As a social host, you'll become part of the hostel community, spending time with guests, helping newcomers feel included, and bringing people together through conversations, games, parties, and other activities.
The experience is about more than just socializing. You'll help organize events, capture photos and videos, share local recommendations, and contribute to the overall guest experience.
In return, you'll receive accommodation and agreed benefits, meet travelers from around the world, and enjoy the island lifestyle.
We encourage volunteers to have fun, make friends, and enjoy their experience while taking their responsibilities seriously.
Activities & Shift
Your main responsibilities include socializing with guests, creating a welcoming atmosphere, helping with events, answering questions, and taking photos and videos during activities. We expect you to be proactive, engaged, and take initiative without constant supervision.
Shifts are predetermined by the manager and must be followed. Volunteers are expected to arrive on time and complete their assigned shifts.
Arriving more than 10 minutes late counts as a late arrival. Three late arrivals or two missed shifts without notice will result in termination. Being hungover, unfit for your shift, or repeatedly disengaged is unacceptable. Genuine illness and emergencies will be considered separately.
Rules
General Conduct
Volunteers must treat guests, staff, and fellow volunteers with respect, follow hostel rules, and keep shared spaces clean. Being intoxicated during shifts, harassment, theft, violence, or bringing guests into staff-only areas is strictly prohibited. Serious misconduct may result in immediate termination.
Professional & Personal Boundaries
Living and socializing together can make romantic relationships complicated, especially when sharing accommodation. Such relationships may make others uncomfortable or create tension within the team, particularly if things don\'t work out.
To maintain a comfortable environment for everyone, romantic or intimate relationships with guests or fellow volunteers are not permitted during the volunteer\'s stay. Sharing beds or engaging in intimate activities in shared accommodation is also prohibited.
Commitment & Termination
This is not a free holiday. Accommodation and benefits are provided in exchange for active participation and responsibility. Excessive phone use, laziness, avoiding responsibilities, or consistently lacking initiative will not be tolerated.
Volunteers who fail to meet expectations, repeatedly break the rules, or demonstrate a poor attitude will be asked to leave. Serious misconduct may result in immediate termination. Accommodation and benefits end when the arrangement ends.
