The Experience

Visiting friends have told me that we live on a piece of paradise. This paradise, bordering both the Pacific Ocean and a lush, vibrant jungle, does entail lots of care and upkeeping! I invite your help in tending to our fruit forest and working towards self-sustainability. Tasks include: weeding, land clearing, mulching, construction, repairs and maintenance, DIY and art projects etc. Work is between 18-20 hours per week based on efficiency.

I had a great time at the farm! Xin and everyone that lives ar the farm are great people and i got experience a lot of little events in the Puna community. first days i had to go through a little adapting fase because it was my first worldpackers experience. i would totally recommend the farm, i was really sad i couldn't stay longer because of my us visa. i would recommend at least a month. it is also very far to get places, so to rent a car would be a must, but they also had the rental car as an option in the farm (look into that!). overall i was very grateful to have chosen the farm!

Xin was such an amazing host! There was never a dull moment. She also had so many recommendations on places to go and things to do around the island. Xin was really respectful about work hours which was great. I hope I get the chance to come again!! Thank you for everything :)

As Xin mentions in her profile the farm truly is a tropical paradise. I especially loved learning about the vegetation and harvest fruits and greens to eat or cook with. Xin immediately makes you feel welcome and gives you recommendations of things to do and see. Since there were other woofers there at the same time there was always someone you could go on adventures with and I absolutely loved the weekly communal dinners + events. Just getting around without a car could be challenging sometimes. Overall I had an amazing experience and my time was truly inspiring in many ways 💚

Xin replied

Isabel,
Thank you for your kind feedback! We definitely miss you at our communal dinners and Karaoke nights! They were great fun!!!
Hopefully our own wwoofer rental car will be up and running again soon so getting around will be easier for wwoofers who like the modern convenience. :)
Take care!

My experience at the farm was very beautiful. I learned a lot and shared lovely moments with both the hosts and my fellow participants. Xin is a respectful person regarding work hours and is always organizing plans for us to learn more about the culture and attractions. The farm is beautiful, and so is the location, with the landscapes surrounding it. I highly recommend this experience!

It was an excellent experience. I'll fully recommend ever to give it a try, you won't regret it. The host, Xin, is an amazing person. I felt completely comfortable there. I learned a lot about all the ways we can help the planet, and being aware about what we use. It was one of the best experience of my life 🌺🌺🌺🤙
