The experience

You will help prepare travelers going to hike Acatenango and Fuego Volcano! You will let them know the best gear to use and make sure they are prepared for this wild adventure. Additionally you'll get to greet them when they return, collect gear. We use tupperware and recycle 2L bottles and an eco filter system to provide water and we will need help cleaning and managing this.

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely

Requirements

Intermediate English or Beginner Spanish

Between 18 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa

Program Details

Volunteers have a pretty simple job and the more volunteers we have the easier the jobs are and the quicker you can get things finished and devote to other projects or spend time exploring Antigua.

Activities & Shift

The AM shift begins at 6am-8am(1person) and the Afternoon shift is from 12-230pm-230.(3people)
And the evening shift is from 4-630pm(1person)
AM shift loans out gear and does very light cleaning. The PM shift received the tour once they return and have a bit more cleaning to do.
The evening shift prepares the gear and gear room and also passes out gear to travelers after the meeting.
We are looking for the type of volunteers that also will take initiative. The accommodations could use some improvements and deep cleanings occasionally and we would like volunteers that are willing to get creative with the space to improve it.
