I couldn't be more thankful to the surf the surf the surf camp and his family for welcoming to their place. This was my first invite and the first experience I accepted and I really enjoyed it. I had the privilege to go to the turtle release nearby and I also received surf lesson at a great discount which was the best part of the stay. If you are thinking about applying to this the surf the surf camp your tasks will be mostly gardening and playing footbol with the surf the surf the surf camp's son, just take a few considerations... If you walk to Quepos at night try to be back before 10 pm. Get some gloves just in case for gardening and maybe insect repellent.

Awesome experience :)
I had a great time here. The work schedule was very flexible : if the waves were good we could stop whatever work we were doing to go surfing and get back at it after the surf session. The place is amazing and the host has a lot of cool stories and things to teach. I would recommend this volunteering experience to people seeking to REALLY disconnect from the society and its stress for a few weeks because there's electricity only during the day and it's a 15min walk to the closest shop or 30min to the city but if that's what you're seeking you will have a wonderful time.

I am really grateful to the surf the surf the surf camp and his family for having me, I had an great time! I learnt a lot about building and gardening. I got sick and they took amazing care of me! Loads of wildlife and surfing which I loved. The surf rental was $10 a day. Keep in mind, its a 30-40min walk to Quepos town with a ferry where you can shop, there is no working fridge at the volunteering/ camping kitchen so meat and things you have to eat immediately. There is a few people on the island and its not safe at night. A very quiet role, if ur a female solo traveller, drop me a message and I can give advice!

My time at the surf the surf camp was pure bliss! It's an absolutely beautiful place with amazing hosts and local folk. This was my first volunteering experience, and now that I've had this much fun, it definitely won't be my last. After 5 h of solid work, I was free to enjoy and use the surf the surf camp's facilities and explore Cocal and nearby Quepos. the surf the surf the surf camp truly deserves the title of the best boss — I learned a lot of cool things from him and am very grateful. I'm already looking forward to coming back to the the surf the surf the surf camp :D

My experience at the surf the surf the surf camp was mixed. I first worked in the garden and later helped with building a terrace, which was hard work but appreciated. I stayed in a cozy wooden house with an outdoor kitchen and toilet. El Cocal didn't feel very safe — you shouldn't go out after sunset, and it's about a 35-minute walk to Quepos. the surf the surf the surf camp was friendly at first, but later he was often rude and communication became difficult. Overall, not the best experience, but not the worst either.

The surf the surf camp is located far from the city(however, in the confirmation email it said Jaco - the address was wrong). The host wasn't genuine, a bit rude, didn't help to get to the surf the surf camp, even though you have to go though little alleys and get on a small “boat” to get to the El Cocal village, then walk for 20-30 min until the surf the surf camp. The village has a bad reputation among the local people and doesn't really have grocery stores. You can say that the surf the surf camp doesn't have a WiFi because it's super slow and most of the time doesn't work. Also, the service is bad there, the surf the surf camp doesn't have a fridge.

The most beautiful place I will see in my life and also the best volunteering experience. We stay in small charming huts. The first thing to do when waking up here is to go for a swim since the sea is in front of us. We literally live on the beach. It's also a place to surf with manta rays; the surf camp offers us a lot of varied activities. We have learned a lot about how to build all kinds of things. The place is warm and welcoming. You will want to stay there for life.
