This is one of the best volunteering experiences I've had so far. The work is not too demanding, and once you get into the routine, everything becomes much easier. The other volunteers are really nice and always happy to help when needed. The accommodation is also great, with a large room just for volunteers. Being paid is a big plus too, as it allows you to buy food while still saving some money during your travels. Adrian, the manager, is very nice and organizes evenings with the volunteers, which is a great way to relax and have a good social moment together.

Having other volunteers there was also so fun because we got to go out together and have an international family of sorts.

This was my first experience with Worldpackers. Adapting to this work was challenging, as I have never worked at a reception before, and had to learn how to interact with guests and handle their problems. Cultural differences in Romania made the role more unique than expected. You work in two hostels: the hostel, with younger, sociable guests and many check-ins, and First, with more Romanian guests, and where I faced more cultural barriers. Adrian was supportive, offered helpful advice and respected my free time. However the small staff can make work a bit demanding. Overall, it met my expectations.

I had a fantastic time volunteering at the hostel! The atmosphere was welcoming and it was a great place to connect with others. The hostel has a wonderful, friendly vibe, and the daily tasks were well-organized and fair.
