Program Details
Fazenda Cósmica is a former coffee farm in the mountains of São Paulo, Brazil, now reimagined as a living space for hospitality, creativity and meaningful exchanges.
We host countryside stays, small corporate immersions, intimate weddings, retreats and creative projects. This means life here changes a lot: some days are quiet and slow, others are dynamic and full of movement.
This is not a classic farm focused on agricultural production, and it is also not a party hostel. It is a family home and a shared project where hospitality is at the center of everything we do.
We are looking for volunteers who are open-minded, hands-on, flexible, respectful and happy to live in community. This position is especially good for people who enjoy preparing spaces, receiving guests, helping things flow and being part of the behind-the-scenes work that makes experiences happen.
You can expect a beautiful natural setting, a simple but charming volunteer house, contact with people from different places, strong exchange with our family and team, and the chance to experience a way of life that mixes countryside, creativity and collaboration.
In return, we expect commitment, presence, care with the space, willingness to help with practical tasks, and maturity in community life. We do our best to guide the work, keep communication open, and create a fair and human experience for everyone.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, usually in one of these shifts:
Morning shift: 9:00 to 13:00
Afternoon shift: 14:00 to 18:00
During event weeks, there may occasionally be an evening shift from 19:00 to 23:00, with time compensated later if needed.
This is a hands-on role for people who are not afraid of practical work or getting a bit dirty. Tasks vary depending on the week, the weather and what is happening on the farm.
Typical activities may include:
- preparing guest rooms and making beds
- light cleaning and organizing shared spaces
- setting up and resetting spaces for experiences, retreats or events
- moving furniture and helping with decorations or signage
- supporting hospitality and guest flow
- helping with kitchen prep, dishwashing or simple food support on busy days
- occasional gardening, basic maintenance or outdoor organization
Work is usually guided by someone from our team, but we also appreciate autonomy, attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Rules
- Please respect that this is both a family home and a shared hospitality project.
- Be kind, respectful and collaborative with everyone: staff, guests, other volunteers and family members.
- No discrimination, harassment, violence or aggressive behavior will be tolerated.
- Keep noise low after 10 PM, as sound travels a lot in the valley.
- Help keep the volunteer house clean and organized. Cleaning your own room, cooking for yourself and shared house maintenance are not counted as volunteer hours.
- Wash, dry and put away your dishes after using the kitchen.
- Please use water, electricity and shared supplies consciously.
- No pets allowed.
- Smoking only in open outdoor areas, never inside buildings.
- Alcohol is fine in moderation; don't abuse.
- Most of our team does not speak English, so patience and openness are important.
- This is a hands-on experience and not a good fit for people with too many limits or who are uncomfortable with practical work.
