The Experience
We need help maintaining our historic and beautiful sanctuary and retreat center with many buildings, Egyptian motifs, and exotic plants and animals. We celebrate the Divine Feminine and alternative spirituality and support LGBTIQ+. Volunteers have been coming here for 45 years. We need housekeepers, gardeners, and handypeople of all sorts to work independently or as part of a team for about 4 hours most days.

This experience has been truly eye opening. I've learned so much about myself and nature. As someone who can be a bit shy at times, the peaceful atmosphere was extremely comforting. Ms. deTraci and Mr. Dan are outstanding, kind, and very very welcoming! I felt so at home being at the Center. I would recommend it to anyone; it's great for first time WorldPackers! They truly take the time to get to know you, and play to your strengths when giving you work to do. I got to do so many fun, different things and still haven't gotten to see it all! I would come back in a heartbeat.

I had an incredible volunteer experience at the Center ! The work schedule was very reasonable and included interesting tasks like landscaping, animal care, and helping with event catering. The environment is unique and everyone's welcoming. Special shoutout to Dan, who I worked with most of the time. He's incredibly knowledgeable about the area and went above and beyond to show volunteers around town, take us hiking, and even brought us to live music events. His upbeat personality and sense of humor made every activity enjoyable. 100% recommend to other volunteers.

I would absolutely, a thousand times over, recommend the Center. It is an amazing property and you have the chance to connect with the land, the trees, and the multifaceted people. Seriously, the folks I met there are brilliant lights that I hope will continue to shine in my life. Also, the work that you do is manageable and can be useful. I learned many things about working with handsaws and felling trees, as well as feeding the alpacas and goats. I also learned about operating hostels, and how to connect with and best serve guests.

Working at the Center was a great experience. The work was fair and the people working there were kind. The room I stayed in was nice and clean, and all the amenities were just as explained in the original posting. I would recommend the Center as a great place to come stay.

This was an incredible experience and I can't wait to come back! Highly recommend! I'm so grateful to DeTraci, Dan, and Ra for making my experience even more special. This was my first solo trip going this far from home and they made me feel very comfortable, they were more than accommodating and I learned so much. the Center itself was so inspiring, very spiritual, there's so much craftsmanship and art that goes into this place. The work was easy to learn, not overwhelming at all and easy to manage! I felt accomplished and happy to help, then I got to spend my days exploring, making art.
