I had a really great time at the hostel in Ioannina. The tasks wear clear and fair devided. Kostas is very flexible when it comes to your days off, so i was able to go on two amazing daytrips with some guests from the hostel. In generel there was a very family-like atmosphere because the hostel is rather small and you get to know everyone. A great bonus was also the terrace where we often sat together for hours. Ioannina is small but super nice, authentic, peaceful and has also a great nightlife. I would recommend the experience to everyone to see a different kind of Greece.

Such a great experience! I really felt at home in the hostel during the month I stayed there. The work is relatively easy, with cleaning from 11:30-13 and reception from 13-16:30 or 16:30-20. During the reception hours you can also read or watch a movie, as long as you keep an ear on the bell, so the time goes by pretty quickly. The town is really lovely as well, with a lot of bars and good secondhand stores. I can truly recommend volunteering here! A big thank you to Kostas and his family, as well as to Ornella and Melanie, for making my time in Ioannina unforgettable.

This was my first volunteering opportunity and it was perfect from start to finish. It’s a small hostel with 18 beds so you get to know the guests very well and it’s got a very community feel. Kostas the owner was more than welcoming to both the volunteers and guests and lets you help yourself to groceries and his own cooking which was really helpful. The work is relatively easy with 1.5 hours of bed changing and cleaning from 11.30 and then you and the other volunteer work from 1-4.30 or 4.30-8 (you decide between yourselves who does what time). You also get one day off a week.

This volunteering position was the first one I did during my journey and it was the first time staying in a hostel for me. I can't describe how much this time meant to me. I met so many people from different countries, we had so much fun together, funny nights with lots of wine and stories I will always remember. Kostas and his sons welcomed me like a family member and their hostel felt like home for me. The hardest part was leaving them and I already miss everyone. I can only recommend spending time in the hostel. Thank you for everything Kostas!

Our experience in Ioannina was amazing! Kostas was so nice and gave us so many great recommendations for fun things to do in the city and nearby villages! The work hours were agreed upon and the same each day! Cleaning was quick and straightforward and reception tasks were simple. The hostel is so cozy and we loved the location!

I really enjoyed my time volunteering in Ioannina at this hostel. It wasn't super touristy, given that it's low season and it was right next to the castle and a big lake, which was super nice to have a walk around it. The work hours are well respected, and the tasks are very easy as well. Kostas also brought some free food for the volunteers to eat which was a bonus. Just be mindful though that in the low season, you might be the only volunteer working in the hostel, just in case you're looking to make friends with the other volunteers, but overall, the experience was very good!

Overall enjoyed my stay and would recommend. There are designated shifts which made it easy to have a schedule. The volunteers that I met are what made my stay. The volunteers dorm could use a bit more care though. Kostas also bought groceries for the volunteers which was great

Had an amazing time with Kostas! The jobs were easy and still had plenty of free time. He is very laid back and understanding which made things easier! He cooked meals for us to enjoy which was much appreciated and also had good time meeting other travelers staying at the hostel. His cat Babis is also just such nice company. Thank you Kostas for an amazing time!
