My experience here was better than I could have ever expected! I made life long friends and saw some of the most the farm views. I think the work trade is fair and John and Kathy are both very hands the farm understanding. I felt right at home just a couple nights in. I hope to return to the farm soon with peyton! I loved my experience here, it is something I will never forget. I highly recommend spending your time here! :)

La Buena Vida was truly a life changing experience for me. The hosts John and Kathy treated me like family from the moment I arrived. I was able to connect with so many of the travelers and made friendships that will last a lifetime. John and Kathy make sure we have clean and comfortable living spaces which is a huge plus for living on the farm. I learned so much from working at La Buena Vida, I knew nothing about plants/farming and John and Kathy were more than happy to help any time I had questions. I enjoyed my experience so much that I ended up extending my stay three times.

I had a great experience on the farm. John and Kathy are extremely welcoming and accommodating. They don't rely on the farm for income and solely do it because they enjoy farming and hosting travelers. As a result, I felt no pressure or stress from the work and definitely made my time more enjoyable. They were very transparent about the type of work we would be doing and if you want to learn more about a specific topic they are more than willing to teach you. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend them to anyone.

Kathy and John are very nice, kind and inspirative people. They are also very patient and always willing to help. They are great teachers and share their knowledge in a clear and entertaining way, always mentioning safety aspects. The farm is a great place to experience farm life in a tropical environment. The vibe was very easy-going without any interpersonal issues. Also great location to explore the island. Big thanks to them and all other people around the farm for such a great time we had there.

We loved our time at John and Kathy's farm! The experience was exactly what we expected based on the description and information we got from them before coming to Hawaii. Communication with Kathy and John was excellent and they're always open to help with anything. Having to only work 20hrs/week gave us plenty of time to explore the island and the location of the farm is perfect too. We've learned so much about farming and island life and I could definitely see myself coming back! :) Thank you!
