English is the main subject that local schools usually request from volunteers, particularly conversational and practical English for Nepali children. However, schools are also open to volunteers sharing other useful skills, knowledge and interests. 💻📸⚽
Depending on your background and interests, you may help with English lessons, conversation practice, games, sports, creative activities, environmental education, basic digital skills or other educational activities.
You will have the opportunity to work with local teachers and children and experience everyday community life in Chitwan. The exact activities can be discussed with you based on your skills, interests and the needs of the school or community.
You don\'t have to be a qualified teacher. We are looking for friendly, responsible and enthusiastic people who enjoy working with children and are willing to share their knowledge and ideas. 😁
There is no fixed teaching method. We want you to make the classes fun, interactive and suitable for the children. 🤩
You will normally teach 3 classes per weekday, with each class lasting about 45 minutes.
English conversation is the main focus, but you can use any creative approach that works for you and the students. You can also work with the local teachers to decide which activities are most suitable for the children!

Your time in Chitwan is not only about teaching! During your free time, you can explore the local area, experience village life, visit the Rapti river, walk around the Ecopark, discover local culture and food, and enjoy the natural environment around Chitwan National Park.
Volunteers who stay with us for more than two weeks can enjoy a free jungle safari 🐘 arranged through our local contacts. The safari itself is provided free of charge; Chitwan National Park entrance fees and any other official fees are not included.
We want you to have time to teach, connect with the community, relax and experience Chitwan at your own pace.
