Amazing experience. Although Paul is not very fluent in English, he is really approachable and friendly. We had a nice time together. The duty isn't too heavy, starting approximately at 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The duty varies, depending on what the host is about to do. As a reference, I collected wood, polished and painted the trunks and did many other different small things. They don't have a very clear schedule or timeline. Every day might be different, which is a special experience. For your information, there is a shop in the nearby town, and you can take Paul's E-bike to buy groceries. Thanks!

Such a magical space away in the forest. Paul is intermediate English but super easy going and always finding fun tasks to do. There's lots of games, good food, great music and brilliant company, it's perfect for feeling like you're giving back to Mother Nature. New projects and ideas flourish everyday, I felt supported to contribute and inspired by the pure intentions all around. I would highly recommended this experience to anyone who enjoys nature, independence and creative expression. There is so much to be discovered, created and respected here. I will cherish the memories made here 💛

My time with Paul was short but memorable, he's a great man, kind, funny and generous. He welcomed me in his place and I felt like home every day. The project is located on a beautiful lake where I could kayak every day, and the forest is very spectacular. We had a great time together, cooking our meals together as a family 🥰 The tasks are very variable, it depends on what's needed, could be painting, collecting wood, DIY, gardening 👩‍🌾 Thank you Paul I really had a great time with you ☺️

My experience was very nice with Paul and the other people who collaborate in the project, also with the other volonteers. Everyone was lovely and kind.

You have to be independent and also look around and ask to see how you can help too, it's nice. You alway can find something to do. Just sometimes the organization have to improve a little bit.

And be around nature and having the lake and river war amazing.

Thanks for this very nice experience

I had a nice time at the project, Paul is very welcoming and made sure I was comfortable. I had a chance to do many different things, from splitting logs, to gardening to construction. The woods around the lake are beautiful and are great for walking around after a day's work.

Volunteering with Paul is a truly rewarding experience. He is an excellent host who provides clear guidance, support, and a welcoming environment for volunteers. The project is well‑organized, meaningful, and offers opportunities to learn new skills while contributing to the community. Paul’s kindness and dedication make the experience both enjoyable and inspiring. I am grateful for the chance to be part of his project and would highly recommend it to other volunteers.

I only stayed for about a week in the project but I absolutely loved it. After being in Montréal for a month I needed to be in nature again and the project was the perfect place. I enjoyed spending time in the garden weeding, painting wood, helping for pizza night on Saturday, learning about the project, improving my French a little bit, hiking + swimming and baking banana bread. I got to meet so many lovely people, the other volunteers and especially when Paul's family stayed for two days, it was always such a great atmosphere. Definitely going to miss this place, grateful for this experience!

At the project, you contribute to a good project, immersed in nature and surrounded by people. As you're living in the forest, you work in the garden, doing construction work or help finishing different projects. You learn skills like building, gardening, English and/ or french and more. You can spend time with the other volunteers and Paul, as well as Nicole (the two owners) cooking together or sitting at the fire. It's a calm, alternative place in nature to learn all sorts of things and spend a nice couple of days/weeks.

I really enjoyed my time in the project, it was a very lovely place and everyone was so welcoming! I don't speak French but they were very accommodating to speak English at times to make me feel involved. And it was interesting to learn how Paul, Charles and Nicole have made the project self-sufficient and sustainable using different forms to live off the land
