I stayed at the hostel for one month as an events coordinator, and it was way better than I could have ever expected! This was the best first volunteering experience. Carmen and Fernando helped make me feel at home quickly, and the role was exactly as described! I was able to take day trips and overnight trips while staying! The rooms were lovely, and I enjoyed living in Bucharest during this time! I can't recommend this place more, thank you so much Carmen and Fernando for having me stay at your amazing hostel as a volunteer!! 🫶

What a wonderful experience.. Fernando and Carmen are incredible hosts, from the very first moment, they made me feel extremely welcome and at home.. they had complete confidence in me and my work. The hostel is also sensational, the facilities, location, the working/hours.. everything was extremely special, I have no words to express my gratitude for my time here !!
I not only recommend this experience, but I can't wait to return and spend more time in this amazing city that is Bucharest and to visit more places in Romania.

My time at the hostel was better than I could have ever imagined! Fernando and Carmen were absolutely amazing hosts and extremely kind and welcoming. I volunteered at a not so busy time during the year but regardless if there were 2 guests or 20 guests I still had so much fun. The hostel is located directly in the centre of the old town with so many restaurants and bars/ clubs close by. I had no expectations coming to Romania but ended up leaving wishing that I had stayed longer as I was impressed by everything. The activities I had to do was simply just having fun and going out with people! 10/10

Sarah was absolutely amazing as the person in charge of social events. She brought incredible energy, creativity, and organization to everything she planned. Every event felt welcoming, fun, and thoughtfully put together, making it easy for everyone to connect and feel part of a community. I highly recommend her!

I volunteered at the hostel as an event coordinator. When I arrived, the host explained my responsibilities. Three days later, he told me I was doing a great job and to keep going. After that, he never gave me any more feedback. On day 12, he suddenly asked me to pack my things and leave immediately, saying I wasn't interacting enough with guests and hadn't followed his original instructions. These issues were never clearly communicated before, so I had no real chance to improve or adjust.I was left essentially homeless in a Matter of hours, wouldn't recommend.

From day one, I knew good things were going to happen in that place, especially because I met Carmen and Fernando. They have always been kind, respectful, fair, warm, supportive, and incredibly welcoming from the very first day I walked into the hostel. They have also allowed me to learn from my mistakes and opened the doors for me to truly understand this culture and society. I will never forget this experience and the opportunity to get to know the hostel family!

I had a wonderful time working at the hostel. I originally applied for the Housekeeping role but was offered a Receptionist position instead. My shifts were from around 4pm to 10pm, five days a week, and my tasks included checking in guests, giving tours of the hostel, selling drinks and items, and helping answer questions. Carmen and Fernando are great hosts — patient, kind, and fun to work with. During my month here, I gained valuable life skills and met amazing people who became lifelong friends. Thank you so much!!
