I also loved connecting with the local people on the island, and the food was absolutely delicious! It was truly a month of paradise. I loved my time at the hostel. I luckily had an amazing team and the other volunteers were so amazing and now some of my best friends. If you like to chill and swim then this is the place to be. The work load is super easy although just spread out which I found okay. On your off days they can take you back to Cartagena or nearby islands which is really nice because then you don't feel trapped.

Amazing hosts - very helpful! Always more than 1 volunteer so nice in that aspect for socialising. Staff dorm is pretty nice and out the way from guests. One month is quite long to spend on the island but gives u plenty of down time for reading / hobbies etc etc. Guests typically stay 1/2 nights so every night is a different vibe which keeps it interesting. Really social + good fun/ chill + unique vibe. Would recommend for any outgoing people!

Amazing experience all around! My fellow volunteers, the locals, and the guests were all so amazing to get to know. Waking up everyday and jumping into the sea is an amazing lifestyle. The work was very chill and enjoyable. I would recommend this experience to anyone!

I LOVED my time at the hostel. This place is paradise. The food (fish or veg) is amazing and the staff is great. You'll have a co-volunteer. Job includes greeting guests, running tours, charging for rentals, running mealtimes. The work is overall fun and easy but you are constantly “on” throughout the day. If you are a social person, this is the perfect place for you. But if you are looking for a relaxing volunteer experience with specific hours, look elsewhere. You are on an island, there will be bugs and humidity. Bathrooms are fine. Also, loved getting to know the locals!

The hostel is a very high energy place and a great place to volunteer if you like to connect with travelers and party. The hosts were very clear about the schedule and respected the hours. The food was delicious, we eat the same meals as the guest, and there was a seperate sleeping quarters for volunteers and staff. The tours were fun to lead and it was great to connect with people on El Islote. I highly recommend it for high energy people looking to have a good time and learn new skills.

My experience at the hostel Água was something incredible to experience.
Ronald and Rafa were the best hosts and the whole team was amazing.
The activities were well directed and they were always available to help carry them out, with ideas, equipment and ongoing activities.
I developed a lot in relation to the ecological topic; I learned a lot about island culture, especially Santa Cruz del Islote.
I practiced English a lot and certainly left with many friends and experiences to tell the world.
The hostel Água experience is forever etched in my life.
