I can't thank Yoko-san, Oharu-san and their three lovely children enough for the time I got to spend with them! I loved working in the garden, going bamboo harvesting and also the trip to the zoo and Swimmingpool..I'm a vegetarian and they made sure I always had so much delicious food to eat, too! The surroundings are amazing, I loved going for bicycle rides next to the ricefields. Thank you!

This was a rewarding experience. I could enjoy nature everyday, practice Japanese, and learn about the local community. The host is well-traveled and really interesting to talk with. I'm glad that I could spend this time with her family.

Wonderful experience staying with a fun, kind and beautiful family. Food was delicious and they're so nice to talk and play with. Tasks were clearly defined (and demonstrated when necessary), but there was freedom to work according to our own timings, as long as the work gets done.
We had a house all to ourselves; plenty of space. The surroundings feel fresh, calming and peaceful. We would walk to supermarkets or different restaurants (inc. Indian and McDonald's) when lunch wasn't provided and 100 yen strawberries are sold at a nearby farm. The family also grow their own fruit you can pick.

I felt at home with Yoko-san and her lovely family! The time with them was very special and will be one of the most memorable parts of my trip. Yoko-san is very communicative- we were always aware of schedules, meal times etc. The tasks were explained at the start of the day and we were able to plan our day according to our preferences. We helped with and learnt about a large variety of tasks, the most unique ones being mochi and miso making. It was lovely being able to eat oishi meals with the family and play with the sweet children. I would highly recommend this experience to others :)

Yoko and her family were so warm and welcoming, by the end of our stay they felt like family. I loved being able to work outside in nature and it was the perfect way to end my trip in Japan after being in the city. I absolutely loved being able to bond and play with her three children who were such joys :) They also made such yummy meals for us, it allowed us to taste authentic homemade Japanese food which was such a treat. It was a great culturally immersive experience and I would love to come back!

Our time together was so much fun! This was one of the best experiences I've had here so far! Yoko and Oharu are amazing hosts, they always made sure I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. They made oishi food every time. The kids are amazing and always ready to play. I felt part of the family and very welcomed. And the place is just amazing, perfect to escape the crowds and the big city vibes. Just great!!

This host uses a mask of kindness to trap volunteers for heavy labor (moving thick logs/soy sacks). They manipulated me by claiming others worked 7-8 hours/day to guilt-trip me. When I caught a severe fever, their 'politeness' vanished. Despite being dizzy and ill, I was forced to weed the garden in the dark. At 6 PM, the husband turned hostile, shouted 'Leave NOW', and threw me out into the night, breaking our agreement to stay. They even instructed their children to ignore me. They treat volunteers like disposable slaves, not humans. STICK TO YOUR SAFETY AND STAY AWAY.

We are very grateful for our week here! The family were welcoming and ensured we never went without anything, and provided home-cooked meals that allowed us to try lots of new things, whilst also taking into account what we liked! We had a great time with the children, and enjoyed bonding over Pokemon. The tasks were varied, such as collecting chestnuts, planting vegetables and weeding; we worked hard, but it was rewarding! We even got to enjoy an outing with the family on the weekend, which was fun! We definitely recommend for a truly authentic experience. ありがとうございます!!
