The experience

Our Eco project has just started, we have a small piece of land we are using for growing vegetation and farming chickens. We can also bring you to many local agricultural projects that support nutrition in schools, meeting local farmers and learning their techniques of farming. We pick rubbish to clean up our streets. We would love any ideas for developing our eco project also.

Experience the nature of Uganda in all its true beauty.

Program Details

We're aiming to plant a variety of crops together with the community to sustain nutrition and avoid famine in the community. We also would like to tackle the issue of plastic waste in our community. Plastic is destroying much of the land and can now be found in many beautiful natural places. We would like part of our mission to be to clean up this waste and find good solutions for our community to stop polluting the land. We do regular litter picking and we would like to do much more with our volunteers. We find bottles and sell them to the recycling plant which brings a small amount of money for our charity, but we are trying to find more sustainable solutions.
If you are an agricultural expert and want to teach farmers on things like preservation of food, food processing, maximising crop potential etc. we can organise community groups to participate in learning workshops. If you just want to help with maintaining and cultivating the land, you are most welcome.

Activities & Shift

We have got the activities like .
Gardening
Composting
Camping
Litter Picking
DIY projects (for making waste bins, up-cycling old items for arts & crafts etc)

Rules

We expect our new volunteer to learn more skills about environmental conservation.
The community is ready to learn the new ways of growing and caring for the land and crops.

We want our volunteers to respect local practices and also be engaged in the work.
