My experience at the eco village was delightful, I felt very welcome and at home, the hosts and guests made me feel like I've been part of the community forever. I truly admire and appreciate how everyone works together in community and the site is beautiful. I loved working in the garden and with the animals and it made me connect with nature in a unique way. I also love how the larger community comes together and how everyone connects with each other. I will forever cherish my time and experience there.

My experience at OUR the eco village was life changing and I recommend it to anyone willing to immerse themselves in a community and build real connections with those living with you. The opportunities we had to work with animals plants and hands on was exactly what I was looking for as my day to day life whilst still having time to explore there beautiful nature around shawnigan lake and surrounding provincial parks. The opportunity to learn about indigenous culture and the culture built at the eco village through the people that have been there long term was a perfect introduction to Canada.

Jake.....you are an outstanding young man!! You truly brought a sense of integrity, caring, and an athentic sense of wonder into OUR Ecovillage. Your attention to the needs of the moment but also seeing a bigger picture was really appreciated. You certainly demonstrated an honest and 'can-do' learning style with everything you put your hand to. My stay at OUR has been enriching. I've learned a lot about organization and resource management, including time and personnel. I've also met wonderful, kind-hearted people from whom I've learned a great deal and continue to learn, and I'd love to keep learning. It's also a place where you can learn a tremendous amount about permaculture, wastewater treatment with its extensive wetland system, and natural building. They have many books, but the experience of Brandy and those who built this place is invaluable. I am very grateful.

Daniel has been th most wonderful person to have within OUR Ecovillage team!! We have been blessed to have such a kind-hearted, detail-oriented, inspiring & dedicated person to not only stay with us but choos to stay on longer sharing the holidays with us as well. His interest in learning everything is helpful and hopeful-you will find Daniel jumping into whatever is going on that is either exciting or even the no so fun projects that just need doing! I'm extremely grateful for this experience to learn and grow as an individual and community member of OUR the eco village. Coming with an open mind I found my time here to be an eye-opening opportunity to practice a multitude of different skills to live more sustainably in unison with the land and people, not just related to the position I applied for. Even after my short month here I'm still reflecting on new aspects I want to implement in my life and looking forward to returning again in the future!

I've learnt about myself, the land and history. It's been an amazing time at the eco village and I'm sad to have to leave before winter. I'd recommend this place to anyone. Even in only 4 weeks I feel like this place has impacted me in a great way and I'm very grateful for that. I've met many lovely and interesting people here. You have put your hand to so very many aspects of the farm, whether working on your own or in a group and you bring such heart and thoughtfulness to each task. We could not have done so many things without you and remain forever grateful.
