Program Details
Join our volunteering program in Chamazi, Tanzania, and help make a meaningful difference in the lives of children aged 3 to 13. We are an NGO supporting education for children from low-income families, working together with our local teachers to create a safe, caring, and inspiring learning environment.
In the mornings, volunteers support our kindergarten and younger children by assisting local teachers with lessons, educational activities, reading, games, songs, arts and crafts, and play-based learning. In the afternoons, older children attend additional lessons in English and Mathematics, where volunteers can help them practice, build confidence, and strengthen important skills for their future.
Volunteers work alongside our local teachers rather than replacing them. We welcome people who are patient, responsible, creative, open-minded, and genuinely enjoy spending time with children. You don\'t need to be a professional teacher, what matters most is your willingness to share your time, skills, ideas, and positive energy.
But volunteering with us is about more than teaching. It is also an opportunity to experience everyday life in Chamazi, connect with the local community, learn about Tanzanian culture, and create meaningful memories. You will become part of our school community while sharing your own culture and learning from the people around you.
Every lesson, conversation, game, and moment of encouragement can help a child feel valued and motivated to learn. By giving your time and energy, you can help us provide better education and contribute to brighter futures for the children.
Come and be part of a cultural exchange where we learn from one another, support our community, and make a difference, one child, one lesson, and one day at a time.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers will work 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, from Monday to Friday.
During your time with us, you will assist our local teachers in teaching our children. You will follow the guidance of local teachers while participating in the program.
We also encourage our volunteers to have fun with the children and share love and kindness, as the children are eager to give back and create unforgettable experiences together.
Our children are very friendly and motivated to learn. From the first day, they will greet you with smiles and enthusiasm, eager to engage with volunteers.
In addition to volunteering, you will have the chance to experience local life. Our village offers an authentic experience of Tanzanian culture. You can explore the village, meet local people, use local transport, visit markets to find ingredients, learn Swahili and practice with locals, exercise on the community football ground, enjoy local music, and experience many other aspects of Tanzanian culture that make your stay unforgettable.
