My experience was very good! The hostel is a place to feel at home, away from home. There are children, a dog, a bird, and a yard with a hammock. The neighborhood is very quiet and it is a 10-minute walk from Arraial Center and about 25 minutes from the beach. The hosts, Vini and Karla, live in the house and are reserved people, but they are always available when I need them. The tasks were always requested politely, the hours, shifts and days off were respected. The work consists in daily cleaning of the house and some domestic tasks when requested. Always possible to complete within the 3 hours daily.

We went to stay for a week, but two months have passed. In that time, we watched Mariana grow and we cheered with every little step and every new discovery. The silence of the house was the ideal environment for studying, and the location, about 10 minutes from the center, made our routine easier. In Arraial d'Ajuda, we felt safe throughout the stay. Karla and Vinícius were always available, with special mention to Karla, who was present daily, offering all the support with a lot of kindness. We left with a 'see you soon', because we know that one day we will return.

It was supposed to be a week, and two months have passed!
A place to disconnect and relax, great for those who work from home; it's quiet and has flexible hours.
We formed special friendships that have stayed with us.

My experience went well. I was able to enjoy this week to visit Arraial d'Ajuda. The volunteering is 3 hours per day to help keep the house and the hotel clean. The conditions were respected. The youth hostel is in a very quiet neighborhood. The two dogs are cute, kind and very calm (even for me who has a bit of fear of dogs).

Our experience at Hostel the hostel was very positive. The hostel is welcoming, quiet, very the hostel located and we were able to connect with and adapt easily to the other volunteers. Arraial d'Ajuda surprised us in a very positive way, and we were very the hostel received by the hosts, who always demonstrated flexibility throughout our stay.

It was an amazing experience! I would have stayed 7 days, but I ended up extending to 17 — and, if there hadn't been another volunteering already scheduled, I would have stayed even longer 😄 Katia and Vinícius are extremely welcoming, warm, and always willing to help and answer all the questions. I felt very welcomed by the hostel and at ease during the entire stay. I highly recommend the experience!

My experience at Hostel the hostel was above expectations, very rewarding and enriching. Being my first time at a hostel, as a volunteer and traveling alone, I tested my limits and abilities, and the host's support was decisive for my adaptation and success. I recommend the place for its simplicity, honesty, respect, and commitment to hospitality and volunteering.
