Menseur and his family are very welcoming and kind and I loved spending time with his kids and at the hostel. The people who come bring good energy and you get everything back that you put into it.
It's important to be communicative though when it comes to needing breaks or rest, the workload itself is not bad and the expectations are reasonable as long as you open with your needs and requests. Menseur and his wife also help around a lot and during times I was struggling, were happy to step in and pick up more work.

My experience at the hostel was excellent. Mensur and his entire family treated me wonderfully. Communication was always good, which made everything much easier. Ulcinj is definitely a place worth visiting, and it's quite manageable because the tasks aren't complicated at all, and you have plenty of time to complete them. Thank you for the opportunity and for making my first volunteer experience such a wonderful memory.

Beautiful hostel & kind family but my experience was very demanding and uncomfortable There were not fixed working hours or days off, I was constantly expected to do things Other volunteer left because of the same issues, leaving me alone during high season I worked minimum from 8:30am to 2pm cleaning making beds 4dorms 4bathrooms and private rooms+toilets taking out trash putting clothes&sheets to dry all day receiving guests. I had to inform everytime I went out. I could not just rest had to go out for that Main issue was the lack of boundaries, they think its work, not volunteer. Left early

Im very happy with my experience here. I was looking for a social role in a hostel but they offered me a family, great work environment and the host Mensur is very kind and a very good friend. Anything you need he's always open to listen and his idea is to make this hostel even better. I recommend this place for volunteering, the tasks are simple and you will get to know tons of people which is the best thing about this experience, make friends and create memories. Recommend it 100%

I came here unexpectedly because another host cancelled on me at the last minute, and I'm so glad I did! The hostel is really beautiful and relaxed and all of the guests were so kind and friendly. Most of the guests were solo travelers so it was easy to make friends to go out and explore with. Mensur is very generous and kind, and his family are so sweet and welcoming! He is always calm and happy and treats volunteers and guests respectfully. The work is pretty simple since it is a smaller hostel, just cleaning the rooms and a couple of check ins day. I will miss this place for sure!

Mensur and his family at the hostel are extremely welcoming and kind. They made me feel at ease in Ulcinj right away. The work is exactly as described and leaves plenty of time to explore the city and surrounding area. Mensur has lots of helpful information about the city and made working here an enjoyable time. I highly recommend this experience to anyone looking to come to Montenegro and have a pleasant stay :) I look forward to coming to visit again someday!

Volunteering as a painter in Ulcinj, Montenegro was such a unique experience for me! The host and his family were very kind and hospitable during my stay. I was provided with supplies to complete a large outdoor mural and my hours were flexible. The family provided traditional breakfast as promised including fruits from their garden. Because it's winter, it was very quiet at the hostel and not many tourists were around. It was still nice to explore the walkable city like this. Thank you again for the experience Mansur! I hope everyone in town enjoys the mural :)
