Dimitri and Marianne are two exceptional people, kind, funny and always attentive.
They helped me discover the whole area around Cabo de Gata and told me about all the things I must visit.
The house is a bit far from the town and surrounded by mountains but it helps disconnect from the speedy life and really enjoy the place.
Tasks are quite easy to do if you are resourceful and it leaves a lot of time to do stuff (personnal projects, hikes, visiting...).
I would recommend this experience 100%.

The first weeks were okay. Then it was like a switch flipped in Marianne. Her adult son was there and made me really uncomfortable by making misogynistic, homophobic and transphobic comments. I told her crying about this (she was there) and the next day she kicked me out, even though there were just 5 days left. Additionally the host and his son were taking various drugs every day, multiple times a day. They were also driving me around while drunk and high and we almost got into accidents multiple times. Sometimes they didn't provide enough food and I had to live in a container.Can't recommend

is easy to slander people behind your screen when you are back home; but people just have to read your profile which is very negative with not any positive comment and our profile which is very positive to make their own idea of who we really are. Poor girl.

I stayed at the guest house in august. i did approximately 3 hours per day, i had two day off per weeks. Dimitri and Mariane are welcoming and atypical characters. Mariane is kind and cook very very well! Dimitri is also kind and funny! they own two dogs who will bring you a lot of joy during your stay. if you like animals, there are also dogs around the house and goats. you have access to the swimming pool when there is no customers in it. i had some issues with the water and the wifi. the surroundings are absolutely beautiful and very rich, you can go on hikes but be careful!

My stay at the guest house was a great opportunity to practise both my Spanish and my French with Marianne, Dimitri and Sabina. I was also able to engage with some of the clientele who were staying at the hotel. Marianne, Dimitri and Sabina are wonderful hosts who can all cook very well. What I struggled with more here, was connecting with lots of local, young people. The place is in the mountains, a 25 minute drive away from the nearest town. However, to help combat this, Marianne and Dimitri kindly lent me their car a couple of times a week. This was very considerate of them.

An incredible experience! Marianne and Dimitri go out of their way to make you feel at home; I spent wonderful moments with them and I could never thank them enough. The setting and the working atmosphere are perfect. It's hard to say goodbye to them and to the adorable dogs with whom they share their life ☺️. If I had the chance to redo the experience, I would do it without hesitation and I can only recommend them to future travelers!

I had an excellent stay with Marianne and Dimitri. My work hours were respected and the work requested wasn't complicated and was varied. The place where the guesthouse is located is sublime, perfect for taking time for yourself away from the city!
During my days off, they were always available to drive me so I could visit the surroundings.
I would recommend it 100%, provided you like calm and spending time alone!

Marianne y Demetrio son anfitriones excepcionales. La casa es un lugar lleno de Paz y Tranquilidad, perfecto para desconectarse y las perritas Pepita y Yaya son una dulzura. La casa ha sido mi primer voluntariado y la he pasado muy bien. Marianne y Dimitri se han preocupado mucho para hacerme sentir muy bien y como en casa. Las tareas que se realizan en casa son sencillas y todo es muy puntual con las herramientas necesarias. He podido disfrutar de la naturaleza de Gafares y las bonitas playas en Carboneras. Marianne cocina muy rico y Dimitri es muy entretenido. Juntos hemos hecho un buen equipo en la casa. Muy agradecido con la bonita experiencia y el aprendizaje en estas 3 semanas. Los recomiendo :)
