Helen has built a wonderful community for the local community. Unfortunately I wasn't able to experience the community for long as there was an accident which happened which meant I had to leave. But anyone looking to help the children should know they will be super excited to meet you. The school is very flexible and will welcome any new skills you can teach to the children. They love arts and crafts! Please note that accommodation is rustic so you will enjoy being in nature. To get there you take a minibus and then a boat (both low cost) which helen was very helpful with sending links for.

I had an amazing experience at the school! Helena made every effort to make me feel welcome both at the school and in Atins. The project is amazing as the kids get lots of opportunities which I was fortunate to help out in, teaching English, computer skills and play. Despite knowing only basic Portuguese Helena helped me practice but also spoke English when needed. An amazing experience which I would highly recommend!

It has been my first time volunteering with Worldpackers and it has been a fantastic experience! the school is a well-established project in the community and Helena is a great host, she really makes you feel welcome. Working with the children in Atins has been the best way to get to know the local culture. I have really enjoyed the activities with them and have learnt a lot too. I definitely recommend it!

O the school was a very deep experience for me. Having the opportunity to connect with the children of the community and with the territory, in a way that would only be possible through volunteering. I had a very good relationship with Helena and wanted to send a special kiss to Docica, who works at the house. Sorvete and Casquinha are the best canine duo in Atins 🥹

The school is much more than an NGO! It is a powerful and fundamental place for education and welcoming for the local community! Being able to be with the children and the team was enriching and memorable. In addition to all that, Helena is a wonderful host and offers excellent accommodation! Without a doubt, an unforgettable and wonderful experience! And, as if all of this wasn't special enough, Atins is a true paradise! I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The school project is beautiful, I fell in love with everything I lived. I felt very welcomed, I had the autonomy to help in the way I considered most relevant. The children are very animated and fun.
The space where I stayed is very well structured. Not to mention that Atins is beautiful—there is no need to comment on the grandeur of the dunes.
Lele (aka Helena) is a sweetheart and is doing admirable work with the children. I also met Ed and Lele's mother. I can only thank you and look forward to many more meetings.
I recommend it a thousand times!
