By far our worst volunteer experience. The person “in charge” was super disrespectful with us and we experienced a task overload everyday. We were both put in reception but were expected to do the management of the whole hostel alongside with the rest of the volunteers team. The real manager is only available through whatsapp since he lives in a different city. We were left alone to face problems with guests and the hostel didn't want to take any responsibility but afterwards they questioned our actions, nonsense. As top of the cherry the volunteer room is dark, small and moldy.

Aldo from day one wanted your fellow volunteers to break the rules to benefit himself, he referred to his fellow volunteers with derogatory words, minimizing their effort, our program requires a security deposit which they did not deposit, taking advantage of his position at the reception, repeated late arrivals and a bad attitude toward guests were the reasons that led me to end the volunteering early.

I enjoyed the location and relaxing vibe of this hostel. The other volunteers were very friendly and welcoming. The work was fairly easy to do and as agreed upon The improvements I would recommend would be for the owner to communicate effectively and be more respectful. By my second week, I was threatened to be replaced due to lack of being trained properly. This is unfortunate for a leadership role and not okay. Management is also communicates poorly in a degrading manner. There also was never yoga or dance classes as mentioned when applying for the position.

I really enjoyed my experience at this hostel. From the very first moment they made me feel very welcome and part of the place. I especially want to thank them for allowing me to share this experience with my pet, that meant a lot to me. I also want to thank Simona for her patience and support; as in any new place, I made some normal learning-curve mistakes, and she was always willing to teach me and help me improve.

My experience in the hostel was wonderful, the team of volunteers felt like family, the place is wonderful, and although there are things to improve the overall experience was a 10 out of 10. From the first day I entered, until the last, I was treated with a lot of respect, a lot of patience, and no matter the number of errors I might make, Simona was always there to support me. Now I know that I am leaving an incredible place, but at some point I think I will return, I hope that the next time I come back there won't be so many mosquitoes, because that's the only thing that makes you go a little crazy, to be honest haha

As soon as I arrived, the treatment from the administration was very hostile. There was only 1 bathroom and 2 showers for volunteers. And the bed sheets for the bed were all torn, so you end up sleeping on the mattress, which is unhygienic.

Spent some time at the noo hostel and some time in Playa del Carmen. Both experiences are fantastic and different. The hostel has a closer vibe, you feel more connected with the people, while Playa del Carmen is very busy, with activities inside and around the city. For me it was a fantastic experience; I could create content with freedom, get to know more of both cities, and practice Spanish and English with the team and guests. The facilities of both are very good, good beds, space to work, and the team always very helpful and friendly. As a traveler, it is an excellent opportunity; I recommend it to everyone!

The experience noo hostel was wonderful ❤️ The hostel and the team were very calm, providing a welcoming and comfortable environment. The tasks were well distributed, with flexibility for schedules and days off. In addition, they encouraged my massage therapy work. I would recommend and would come back more times!

El hostelfue mi primer voluntariado y mi primera vez viviendo en un hostel. Agradezco haber llegado a este lugar y haber compartido un mes y medio con personas que estarán por siempre en mi corazón. Sin dudas es una experiencia que te ayuda a crecer y encontrarte fuera de tu zona de confort. Disfruté mucho del lugar y la naturaleza que lo rodea. Es una gran oportunidad llegar ael hostel para sumergirte en una nueva aventura ♥️ simplemente.. gracias!
