Program Details

📅 Schedule & Daily Life
Our project follows the rhythm of an active association, which means our daily program adapts to our current needs. Flexibility is our keyword!Depending on where the boat is located, we operate under two different scenarios:
Scenario A: Normal Workshop Days (Around 5 hours/day)Generally, due to the weather conditions, we start working around 10:00 AM and finish around 4:00 PM (including a lunch break). During this time, we will be in the workshop preparing the frames and structures to be installed on board.
Scenario B: Dry Dock Days (Intensive Maintenance)If the boat is on the dry dock, our routine changes. We will stay at the house and drive together to the boat every day. Please note that this is physically demanding, heavy manual labor. On these days, the schedule is more intensive: we leave around 9:05 AM, start working around 9:30 AM (after a 25-minute drive), and finish around 6:00 PM, followed by the drive back.
💪 What we expect & Team SpiritIf you are not used to manual labor, this work will feel quite heavy and tiring. There is nothing technically difficult, but it requires stamina. However, you won't be alone! We are a great team composed of association members and other Worldpackers volunteers. Our goal is always to maintain a positive state of mind, working with a smile and strong cooperation. This community spirit makes the hard work feel much lighter—and usually, we manage to have a great time doing it!

Activities & Shift

We use to work all day together, we have to prepare boats for the activities season so the type of work It depend on the period of permanence. Anyway from the construction to the ordinary maintainance.
🤝 Our Philosophy: Collaboration & CommunityOur project is built on mutual support and a strong community spirit: here, we are all at each other's disposal. We believe in flexibility and helping one another at all times. Depending on the number of volunteers present, our daily organization may vary: sometimes we will split into specific shifts, while other times we will manage tasks in a more fluid and spontaneous way.
🧹 Daily Tasks for Every VolunteerRegardless of whether there are specific shifts for bigger projects, there are essential daily tasks for maintaining our shared spaces that require everyone's contribution.Every day, every volunteer is expected to help with:
Floor care: Vacuuming the common areas.Kitchen tidiness: Washing the dishes and cleaning up after meals.Space maintenance: Cleaning and sanitizing the bathrooms.
👥 Shift Management & Team SupportWe want this experience to be sustainable and enjoyable for everyone. For this reason:
Flexibility: If we have enough volunteers, tasks will be distributed evenly to ensure you have plenty of free time.
Teamwork: If the number of volunteers is not enough to cover all needs, the managers will step in too. In addition to cooking, the managers will join the shifts directly to do cleanings and tasks right alongside the volunteers.
