I spent two weeks volunteering, all the shelter are well looked after by the dedicated team. They really love and care for all the shelter at the centre and in the local area/temple.
My days were spent cleaning up the area, helping with the food, washing and walking the paraplegic the shelter and plenty of cuddles!
My things to note would be it may be better suited for a pair of volunteers as it is quite a remote area (this being said I enjoyed my time and don't mind being solo :) ) and I would say it's easier if you ride a moped to get around.

If you love the shelter, feel like having a bit of a routine, don't mind living in a quiet area and getting a little dirty sometimes you are likely to enjoy this experience as much as me. I loved being able to brush, play with, feed, walk and shower the shelter. I also enjoyed learning how to care for the paraplegic the shelter. There was always something to clean, to tidy up, or other ways to contribute so it felt like our help was always meaningful. The ladies working there are incredibly kind and we were lucky enough to spend time with other volunteers which made our experience even more enriching.

We really enjoyed our time at the shelter! the shelter are super sweet and easy to bond with. The owners and staff take very good care of all of them. We could help with the cleaning of the area, walking the shelter and during feeding time. Overall, we recommend the experience!

We had a wonderful time volunteering at the shelter and felt welcomed as part of the team from day one. Bang, Ohn, Franz and Franziska are incredibly supportive and do an amazing job. It's best to clarify with Verity at the start which tasks you're allowed to do, as some require experience. the shelter are very sweet, each with their own unique story and personality and working with them was incredibly rewarding. We highly recommend volunteering here if you love the shelter and want to help - even if it's simply by giving them love, cuddles and attention.

I really enjoyed my stay at the shelter. The team I worked with were very kind and made me feel welcome. Working with the shelter was a genuinely rewarding experience. They are all sweet, well behaved and clearly well cared for. The area around the shelter is also a big plus. It's located right next to a quiet, beautiful beach where you can walk the shelter and the surroundings feel peaceful and relaxing. It's a lovely place to spend time outdoors, both with the shelter and on your own. Overall, I had a good time there and would recommend it to other dog lovers.

The shelter was my very first WorldPackers experience and it was a truly wonderful way to start my first solo trip. the shelter are very special and welcoming. I was nervous to meet so many the shelter, but it got easy very fast. I did a mix between social media, gathering content, fundraising help, and taking care of the shelter. I was the only volunteer when I went, but I got a chance to meet and hang out with some of the locals there. The area is very beautiful and peaceful. Everyone was kind and welcoming which made me feel a lot more comfortable being far from home.

From the moment I arrived, I felt truly welcomed by Verity and Thep, who are not only dedicated to the shelter but also genuinely kind and inspiring people. The local team were equally friendly and made me feel part of the group. The work is physical and hands-on, but it never felt like a burden because you can see how much it matters to the shelter. Spending time with them every day, getting to know their personalities and seeing their progress was the most fulfilling part for me. This is a place where every bit of help makes a difference. I'm grateful I got to be part of it.

Volunteering at the shelter's Dog the shelter has been a rewarding experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the team and, of course, the most lovable group of the shelter. Each dog had their own unique personality and story, and it was great getting to care for them. The work was hands-on, meaningful, and filled with tail wags and cuddles. The deep bond between humans and animals is so special. That makes leaving bittersweet. I'm going to miss the doggies and their playful spirits. They've left a paw print on my heart, and I know I'll carry this experience with me always.

We spent 1 month at the shelter, and we could not have asked for a better experience. The team is incredibly dedicated and passionate about their work and about every single dog. the shelter are treated with love and care, and they make sure every dog gets proper medical attention. They really go above and beyond for not just the shelter in the shelter but also the temple the shelter. Bang, Ohn, Piak, Franziska and Franz, thank you so much for everything you've teached us and for making us feel like a part of the team. We miss you already. Verity and Thep, thank you for having us. We will see you soon ❤️

The experience was exactly what I hoped for. I wish I had more time to spend here. You are involved in the day to day work from day 2 (first day is sitting with the shelter so they get comfortable with you). This allows you to see the highs and lows of dog the shelter life. As a short term volunteer you are helpful, but not crucial to the shelter operations, which is perfect. Note the description is incorrect as each day is 8:30-3:30 with an hour lunch (although none of those are hard times) with 2 days off per week as desired. The working hours allow for plenty of timing hanging out with the shelter.
