I had the best time at De Basis and can really recommend going there! It was my first volunteering experience and for that there couldn't have been a better place! I got to know so many kind new people. The hours were exactly as communicated and the tasks were more than alright! I had a really great time in Zwolle! ☺️

I absolutely loved my stay! Everyone at both the hostel and Bennies was amazing, welcoming, and always willing to help. I really appreciated how spacious the volunteer room was, and the food at Bennies was delicious. Whenever I had any problems or needed help with something, they always did their best to find a solution and make sure I was okay. I'm truly grateful for all their support and kindness. I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this place to anyone considering volunteering or staying there. Thank you all for making my stay so special! ❤️

I had the most wonderful stay here in September!! From day one, the staff and the other volunteers made me feel so welcome and appreciated.
I worked the night shifts, and I would say that the tasks were quite easy to complete. If I had any questions, there was always someone ready to help me.
My experience in Zwolle has also been great. There is always something going on in the city, so you do not have to travel far to immerse yourself in the culture.
The overall atmosphere and the people I met here were genuinely amazing, so I would definitely recommend this opportunity to others!!

I had a great time in Zwolle thanks to the staff and volunteers at the hostel and the restaurant. The tasks were what we agreed on and if I had a question or needed help, someone was there to assist me. The food and the drinks were all so good and I have to mention the music in the restaurant too, because it made the atmosphere even better. The train station is about 10 minutes walk away and the bigger cities can be visited easily. I would recommend this opportunity if you are looking for a smaller town to explore the Netherlands :)

My first volunteering experience, and I truly couldn't have asked for a better one. From day one, the hostel felt like home. The atmosphere of the place, the amazing food, the vibrant city and the positive energy made every day special. The work is easy, the hours are respected, and you feel trusted and supported. WhatI'll remember most are the incredible people I met and the connections I made. I left with so many beautiful memories and a little piece of this place in my heart. If you're thinking about volunteering here, just do it. I would come back in a heartbeat ❤️.

I loved my experience at the hostel. The work was easy and there is always someone nearby to ask in case you have any problem, so it was very easy. There is a restaurant called Bennies at the hostel, and the staff was very welcoming, almost every day all the volunteers were with the Bennies and hostel staff drinking some beers and talking at the end of our shift. I would recommend this experience to everyone. You will meet amazing people, amazing vibes, Zwolle is beautiful, you will have time to explore The Netherlands and Zwolle is really well connected with all the cities by train. So amazing

My volunteer experience at the hostel was extremely positive! The tasks were clear and manageable, and the staff and volunteers formed a supportive team that help whenever needed. They were also super flexible with schedules and shift changes. Meals are provided only on working days and are mostly vegetarian (this didn't affect my experience at all, but it's good to know in advance). With a small team of about 10 volunteers, the atmosphere was friendly throughout my stay. I would definitely return in the future and strongly recommend this host o anyone seeking immersive Dutch experience.

Many worldpackers have been applying to this position recently. The host will probably not be able to respond to all of the applications, so we recommend that you also apply to other hosts in our community and not just this one :)
