Loved my stay with Nisa and the family! They are so incredibly welcoming and made me feel so at home. The school is amazing and the kids/teachers are great. The role is more of a teaching assistant but there are opportunities to lead the lessons too. 100% recommend!

This experience gave me a unique opportunity to experience Sri Lanka beyond the usual tourist perspective and get a glimpse into everyday family life and the local culture. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and positive. I’m very grateful for the experience and for all the memories I’m taking home with me. I would definitely recommend this volunteer position to anyone who wants to experience a more authentic side of Sri Lanka.

I stayed with Ninsa and her family during my time volunteering an KGIS. There were welcoming and made an effort to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I need during my stay.
The also took the time to show me some of the important places and temples in the surrounding area , which give me the opportunity to experience more of Sri Lanka culture and every day life.
My time with the children was a nice experience , although unfortunately my stay coincided with the school holiday period , so there were fewer activities and opportunities to spend time with them than I had originally .

I had a wonderful time with Nisa and her Family at the KGIS! I felt incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived. Communication was always effortless, supportive and very helpful. I was able to learn so much about Sri Lankan cuisine, culture, humor and nature and of course teach the students a bit. Although I only stayed with Nisa for a week her whole family will stay in my heart for a long time, thank you so, so much for having me! ❤️ If you like having social impact and a family-vibe stay I definitely recommend you to apply for this experience!

My time here was amazing. From day one, Nisa, Malik, Melina, and all the teachers welcomed us with open arms and made us feel right at home.
The kids were absolutely adorable! I also really appreciated the schedule, as we could alternate every day between the different classes, and there were new activities to do with the kids every day. It kept the experience super diverse and fun.
Thank you so much to everyone for their kindness and hospitality. They have left us with wonderful memories of Sri Lanka.❤️

I stayed with Pagna and his family for 2 weeks and it was amazing. He was so welcoming and such a great host. Then children were also amazing and loved the lessons with the volunteers. I was able to experience a family friends wedding in which Pagna took us along to as well as visiting the city on weekend when there was no school. He picked us up and dropped us off whenever we needed and was very flexible with working to suit us. Couldn't recommend enough just be ready for the super hot weather!
