The host, staff, and workers were all unified to present the best of themselves. It was a pleasure to be in partnership with everyone.
The hotel boutique/restaurant is a ,neighborhood favorite, also, with frequent visitors from all around the island.

Joel was an amazing host! so nice, caring, always making sure we were doing good. the lodge is a beautiful place and the workers there are really welcoming. It's very isolated so keep this in mind, but it's a place to disconnect and enjoy nature and solitude! 10/10 I would recommend.

I had a wonderful experience here in Aibonito. The lodge is beautiful as well as the surrounding area. I was able to feel immersed and connect with the local Boricua culture and pick up a lot of Spanish. Everyone was welcoming and friendly as well. Joel made my stay so comfortable and safe. He always made sure our needs were provided for and went out of his way many times to take us places and show us around the area. I had a great time getting acquainted with the staff and working at the lodge. I am very thankful for the time I spent here and to be able to contribute to a beautiful place.

My experience went well, I've met lots of locals and picked up on some Spanish. I really enjoyed the host and the staff they're very friendly and welcoming! 🥰 I recommend all volunteers get a car if your staying long here, because you will definitely die of boredom, but the scenery never gets old, your in the mountains(everything is really far)! This trip gave me peace, so much peace I've learned some new hobbies, I started working out and reading more! The host doesn't speak much English so coming out there I didn't really know what to do so just make sure you communicate n ask questions!!!

It was truly a great experience. the place is remote, immersed in nature and the views are amazing. I have created a great bond with the staff and the other volunteers. shoutout to the manager, Monica, who coordinates the whole staff and greatly contributed to make this an unforgettable experience. I fell in love with the island and the people. careful with the fire ants and/or other bugs. overall 100% recommend it to other volunteers.

Joel's stay was great! the bed and breakfast/restaurant is beautiful and the accommodation was perfect. was a great opportunity to learn spanish and learn more about local puerto rican culture. I unfortunately had to cut my stay a little short due to a visa issue and joel was extremely flexible about that which i appreciated.

I truly loved my time at the lodge thanks to the wonderful people there. This place is great for intermediate Spanish speakers looking to practice the language and for people who want to disconnect from city life. I recommend bringing books or activities you enjoy doing alone; unless you rent a car you will be secluded to the property. I learned a lot about housekeeping, barbacking, food running, and restaurant management. Potential volunteers should be willing to practice patience, strong communication/confrontation, and working within unstructured guidelines to thrive.

My stay at the lodge was really enjoyable. We did grocery shopping once a week and prepared meals together, so being a vegetarian was not an issue at all. I had plenty of free time to enjoy the pools and the beauty of the place. Be prepared that there might not be other volunteers when you arrive, so I would recommend this place to those who are comfortable spending time on their own as well. The work was great, but communication could be improved. Thank you, the lodge!

The lodge is a beautiful place where nature and charm collide. The staff is incredibly friendly and patient, even with my limited Spanish. A special thanks to Vany, a golden soul who took great care of us—cooking, helping us rent a car (a must for exploring the island since the lodge is located pretty remote), and always being there when needed. The facilities are dreamy, most of us had private rooms. We mostly worked Friday to Monday, though the volunteer organization truly could improve. When you come to this place, I suggest you to speak Spanish, as almost everyone just speaks this language.

Jade & Melanie were excellent volunteers, among the best we’ve had on the project. They are well-organized and responsible, attentive, in addition to being very willing and with good initiative for the tasks assigned. Their personality and energy were a key part during the five weeks they were with us. I recommend them 100%. Any host who wants to make their place more picturesque and add good vibes should welcome them. We will miss them a lot, see you soon 🫶
