My experience at the guest house was amazing. Steve and Renee are wonderful hosts, along with Lochlan, Seth, and of course, the puppy CK. This place is truly special and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. I had the opportunity to meet other amazing volunteers, and we shared some wonderful moments together, such as family dinners and other nice events. I was able to improve my English, and I loved welcoming every guest during my volunteer shifts. I hope to return in the future, and I'd highly recommend this host to any volunteer looking for a unique experience.

My second time volunteering here on reception, and I'm grateful I came back! I loved meeting the guests and hearing their little stories, and the other Worldpackers made it such a fun and diverse community. We shared lots of laughter, breakfasts, family dinners, oracle cards, walks with CK and adventures around Eastbourne. A lovely place to volunteer, with great people, a very cute dog and the sea right on the doorstep. I learned a lot and leave with many happy memories. ❤️

The guest house is definitely not your typical volunteering experience. The hotel is beautiful, the atmosphere is lovely, and both the guests and the team are incredibly friendly.
Steve is very patient and great at teaching, Renée is kind and welcoming, their kids are really cool, and I had the privilege of having Tundi as both my manager and my friend. I also met amazing volunteers from all over the world and shared unforgettable moments with them.
I'm very grateful for this experience and for all the wonderful people I met at the guest house!

We were so happy to come back to the guest house for a second stay. It was such a pleasure to see everyone again and to be welcomed back so warmly. My experience at the hotel couldn't have been better! Steve and his family are so welcoming, and I really felt at home during these 3 months. I'll definitely miss the family dinners every Sunday night and CK! The volunteer facilities are great, as are the extra perks provided by the hotel. I highly recommend this experience to everyone!

This has been one of the best experiences i've ever had. From the very first momet i felt welcomed and part of the family. the guest house is a very special place that helps you bring out your creative side. Steve and Renee are awesome hosts, always available when needed and supportive. The breakfast is excellent and the volunteer's room is super cozy. There is always fun things to do and share (specially with CK's company), walks around Eastbourne, visiting gardens and castles and of course the lovely family dinners. I am grateful for my time at the guest house and recommend this experience 100%

It was a very special experience, I made friends that I’ll cherish for life. I felt like being among family. Everyone helps each other and is very kind and respectful. Tip for travelers: Great place unwind and take a break, peaceful and cozy. The hotel is extremely well located, clean and with excellent facilities. Very close to shops, the beach, easy access to public transportation, very nice and cool places to visit around.

I had a great stay at The Sheldon! The family is absolutely lovely and made me feel very welcome. The breakfast is excellent, and the volunteers' room was great. I also couldn't have asked for a better volunteer team. I had to leave a bit earlier than planned, but it was due to personal reasons and had nothing to do with the host or the experience itself. Highly recommended!

I had a really nice experience at this the guest house. From the beginning, I felt comfortable and welcomed. Steve is a very kind and helpful host, always available when needed and ready to support you. The environment is calm and friendly, and it's a good place to have your first volunteering experience. I appreciated the opportunity to be part of the daily life of the guest house and to learn new things. It helped me to grow, become more independent, and adapt to a new environment. I've spent almost 3 months on the guest house, and I can only say that it was a beautiful experience. Steve is a very kind, respectful and pragmatic person, always there to help you out with whatever you need, and Renne is a very kind and insightful person, she has a hidden talent to bring out the best in you. I felt very respected at the guest house my hours were respected and Steve and Renne are amazing. the guest house is a very cozy special place in the very charming city of Eastbourne. And if you're reading this, I hope you get the opportunity to experience East Sussex through the guest house lens.
