I had a truly lovely time in Savitaipale with Sofia. From the beginning, she made me feel very welcome. I helped in the shop, and enjoyed the work and good conversations. Ahmed and Joel, who also work in the shop, were great to work with — friendly, helpful, and fun to be around. I stayed in the flat right next to the shop. Outside of work, I had plenty of time to enjoy nature and the peaceful surroundings. I'm very grateful for this experience and would happily recommend it to other Worldpackers.

Sofia is a warm and active lady always keen to be helpful to the many international helpers guested here. Furthermore she has shared some interesting stories about Finland. Daily chores in her shop are not difficult to do. On the other hand, Savitaipale is a quiet and calmed village surrounded by impressive forests and a beautiful lake. There's s swimming pool, a gym and a library as well.

About the volunteering I really liked the fact that I could manage my amount of hours as I preferred. Tasks were not super fun (cleaning, ironing..) but I could totally manage my time. Savitaipale is a small town, if you're the only volunteer like I was, is surely not that easy to make friends but it's surrounded by nature, I’ve had the most beautiful walks there. It's a very safe place. The flat is not well maintained in everything and a tip I would give to future volunteers is to take money for food with them, as they'll provide very basic things. Everyone is kind and speaks English.

It was my first volunteer experience, and I really enjoyed it. The place is beautiful, full of nature, calm, and you can enjoy a real Finnish sauna.
Ahmed and Joel are really amazing people, and Sophia is very smart and helpful. The work is flexible (a bit more challenging in cottage) you can manage your time.
I highly recommend this experience if you love nature, peace, and outdoor activities.

It was my first experience with World Packers, and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this experience if you love nature, tranquility, and sports. The work is very flexible, and you can manage your time. Sofia and the others you'll meet here are lovely and kind people, with whom you can learn about Finnish culture. I had the opportunity to stay few days at Sofia's Cottage, completely immersed in nature, and it was a unique experience. Overall, I highly recommend this experience; the time flew by also if Savitaiplae is very small town. I hope to come back one day.

I loved this place, surrounded by nature and near a huge lake where you can go swimming and get some sun. Sofia is a very kind and caring person, even Ahmed her assistant is very kind, helpful and nice. The work is not hard and there is a lot of flexibility with the schedules, I hope to go back one day.

I spent 10 days in Savitaipale. The town is beautiful and the place is comfortable. Sofia and the other people there were very nice. The activities are simple, and you can adjust your schedule to have more free time if you need it. I recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful experience
