I feel so lucky to be a part of such a unique project! The first part of my stay, we were working on cave walls which was mostly a reparative task. Once those were done, I got to do some more creative work so there is room for both. Nikki and Katy were lovely hosts! Showed us around and recommended places to go, very kind. Kiato is about an hour or 2 away from Athens by train, if you are planning a day in Athens (I recommend planning a weekend) The house we worked in is seperate from the one with lived in. Closest store prob 10 min walk. 30 mins to beach.I had a great time creating every day

I have been so lucky to have this as my first Worldpackers experience. Nikoleta and her family are all truly kind people who care about the work AND about connecting with volunteers. It was lots of fun to work on such a unique project, and I learned a lot about alternative applications of art that I never considered. I cannot rave enough about what a good time I’ve had in my month here!! I gained friendship, experience, and a new appreciation for the culture in Greece. Niki goes above and beyond her commitment as a host and I am beyond grateful for her ❤️.

I had the best time with Niki and all the girls I met during my stay. It was such an incredible experience to be immersed in the local culture and meeting people from all over the world while working on the coolest passion project ever. It was an honor to be apart of something so collaborative and beautiful. I will be holding these memories close forever💓

Niki was really helpful & enthusiastic from the beginning! She provided us with whatever we needed, recommended things to do around, and even invited us over to bake christmas cookies, decorate her christmas tree & watch a film together.❤️ We had a great time!❤️ The only thing I found a bit surprising at the beginning was our living situation. I got caught off guard by the state of the flat. To be fair, Niki told us it'd be messy, I just didn't know how messy! And we were completely fine after the initial shock, it was comfy enough! Also, bring clothes you don't mind messing up for the work.

I've spent a wonderful month in Kiato. The town is beautiful and festive. But what makes this experience unforgettable are the encounters made through volunteering. Nikki and Kati as well as their family are ready to help. They were more than hosts and joined us for all kinds of activities. Nikki is very flexible and attentive to what we like most regarding the creative tasks. I've loved discovering new creative activities, as well as the freedom to create according to our ideas as long as they stayed within the maritime theme.
