Program Details
We offer a tranquil experience in a house located just four blocks from Embaré Beach, and only a few minutes from markets and restaurants.
The environment is calm, ideal for those who enjoy routine and working autonomously. We accommodate up to four volunteers at a time, who help us with cleaning, organizing and/or maintenance tasks. Everything works best when everyone does their part with attention and kindness.
The objective of this vacancy is to help keep the guesthouse clean, organized, and pleasant for guests, residents, and volunteers.
The main responsibility of this role is the cleaning and organization of the entire house. We look for people who feel comfortable performing cleaning tasks regularly and who understand the importance of attention to detail in a hospitality environment.
A large part of the work follows documented procedures to ensure consistency and quality. Volunteers are expected to consult instructions, videos, checklists and reference materials.
What we expect from applicants for this vacancy:
- Autonomy: Comfortable working alone and following written/video instructions without constant supervision
- Enjoy a clean, organized and calm environment
- Use WhatsApp, video calls and digital checklists with ease
- Attention to detail: Noticing small things like dust on fans, dirty window tracks
- Communication: Communicates clearly and reports problems proactively (low stock, broken items) before they become emergencies
- Language: Portuguese is preferred, but Spanish or English are also accepted
Specific activities may vary according to the house's occupancy, the moment's needs and the skills of each volunteer.
Activities & Shift
We rent 4 rooms through Airbnb and Booking.com. You will help us keep these rooms and the other spaces of the house clean, organized, and ready to receive guests.
The shift is from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, between guest check-out and guest check-in. Activities may include:
- Cleaning rooms between reservations
- Cleaning and organizing bathrooms
- Cleaning common areas and other rooms
- Changing and organizing bed linens and towels
- Restocking items needed for guests
- Organizing closets, storage spaces and cleaning supplies
- Identifying and communicating problems or maintenance needs
- Supporting simple tasks related to the operation of the guesthouse
- Following checklists and established cleaning standards
The tasks are simple, but require responsibility and consistency. It is also important to communicate clearly about the progress of tasks, and to notify when products are running out or something needs repair.
We send a list of specific tasks every day on WhatsApp. This way, you can check the message as many times as you want, without needing to memorize everything.
Reading, understanding and executing written instructions is an important skill in any work environment. Everything works better when each person does their part with attention and kindness.
Rules
To ensure smooth living for guests, residents and volunteers, please follow these rules:
- Do not smoke in any area of the property, including the garage, barbecue area, and outdoor spaces.
- The house is not suitable for babies or children.
- Visits are not allowed.
- Respect our neighbors. Do not throw anything from the windows, including trash, water, clothes, towels, beach towels, or cloths. The house below is not part of the property.
- Use the washing machine and drying racks to dry clothes. Do not wash clothes in the bathrooms and do not hang wet clothes or towels on beds, furniture or inside bedrooms.
- You may use the kitchen to prepare your meals, but it cannot be used for commercial activities or sale of food.
- After using any item in the kitchen, wash, dry and store immediately. This includes dishes, pans, utensils, air fryer, sandwich maker and other equipment.
- If you find something broken, damaged or missing, notify as soon as possible. We do not charge for occasional accidents, but we need to know quickly to arrange repairs or replacements.
- Wear slippers or footwear inside the house. Walking barefoot spreads dirt around the spaces and increases cleaning needs.
- Do not light incense, palo santo, candles or any other material that produces smoke inside the house. In addition to fire risk, some guests may have allergies or sensitivity to odors.
- Always close the door and gate when entering or leaving the property.
