I wasn't aware that you sleep in another camp than the actual organization. It takes a 6 minute walk trough beautiful nature to walk to the turtle organization where the research assistants and some volunteers live (but there they pay almost double the prize, so it doesn't matter!)
In this camp stay people that are working for the turtles and coconut project.
I felt welcomed and Hernan cooked sooo delicious!
In the organization you work with 4 great local men who are really nice, helpful and passionate about the work with turtles.

My short stay with Patricia on the property working with the turtle conservation project was absolutely lovely. Truly rural and isolated and immersed in nature, there are so many wild animals to see and observe just on the ride over in the boat to Patri's. The food is delicious and fresh, and Patri and Ernand were lovely to chat to in spanish. I highly recommend! If you work on the coco farm you can also volunteer with the turtles if you do the easy one hour training. I saw a leatherback turtle and we help collect her eggs and data for protection! The money goes to a great sustainable cause.

Loved my time in the reserve. Everyone was so lovely and I was immersed in a secluded island culture. If you are looking for a very busy always on the go environment this isn't for you but I was kept busy and also helped with the turtle volunteer group!! Reccomend this!

Patricia and Hernan make you feel like at home,from the morning coffee to the night walk looking for animals..... the reserve is just in front of the Sea,and along the trail You 'll see a lot of animals....💚 Dogs and Cats are part of the family,and they are lovely.....😍 The boat trip to and from the house Is simply amazing , and You feel like in a movie......🤠 You meet part of the local community and learn something about the local cousine.....😋 Thanks guys,I Will not forget You.....pura vida.....🤟

I had such a meaningful experience volunteering here. During my stay, I helped with painting, beach clean-ups, and harvesting coconuts, and also explored the jungle and beach while learning about local wildlife preserves. I also got to learn some Costa Rican cuisine! Herman did an amazing job cooking. He even took us kayaking and fishing, where we saw even more wildlife along the river.I only wish there had been more volunteers. Overall, I’m so grateful for the chance to live remotely, volunteer with purpose, and connect with the culture and nature. Thank you, Herman and Patricia!!
