I liked the amount of international travels you get to meet and how organized the schedule was throughout the week. You can tell they make an effort to have a very structure system with all of the volunteers. The surroundings are beautiful and everyone was friendly.

I was a volunteer in the cafe and overall it was a great experience! The cafe does get very busy and could be a bit overwhelming at times when we were short on volunteers, but managers were respectful of our time and helped train us to be prepared! The woods and bay nearby are gorgeous and it is about a 40-45 minute into Ulverston which is such a lovely town :) From Ulverston, you can take a bus up to other areas of the Lake District on your days off!

My experience at the project was really lovely. I worked at the café and loved the energy of the place. I felt comfortable and welcomed from the beginning, and I really appreciated the kindness and respect of the managers. The hospitality I received made me feel part of the community. I also valued the opportunity to meet people from different places and, especially, to deepen my understanding of Buddhist philosophy. I'm leaving with beautiful memories and a very meaningful experience.

This experience will always stay dear to my heart. I made connections with the loveliest people and had the space to truly decompress and relax. Set amongst serene greenery with direct beach access, the project offers a wonderful opportunity to learn about Tibetan Mahayana Buddhism firsthand. It was a privilege to enjoy delicious, nutritious meals and work in the Art Studio under Lupe, a kind, warm and encouraging teacher. The rewarding work can be labour-intensive yet meditative, preparing Buddhist artwork for the project Centres worldwide. Work hours and breaks were always respected.

My stay at the project Center has been wonderful!! I met warm-hearted people, from hosts to volunteers all of them were very kind and helpful. I had the chance to take part in the beautiful the project teachings and celebrations. It was just lovely! I volunteered working in the kitchen and I learnt a lot there, from chopping vegetables to cleanliness and recycling. The manager in charge was patient and sympathetic. I really enjoyed the work. Above all, people were friendly & great fun. The atmosphere was like a sweet peaceful dream. I hope to repeat the experience & I recommend it 100%!
