Program Details
Breakfast and lunch are provided from Monday to Friday. Each morning begins with yoga, followed by 5 hours of volunteer service, with afternoons free to relax, explore, work on personal projects, or enjoy the surroundings.
Service may include harvesting, planting, composting, gardening, permaculture, food preparation, kitchen support, eco-building, maintaining the reserve, and supporting environmental or community projects. Most tasks are hands-on and no previous experience is needed—you’ll learn as you go and usually work alongside members of our team.
Yoga is an important part of the Wisdom Roots experience. Alongside the physical practice, you’ll have opportunities to explore some of yoga’s traditional roots and philosophy in a simple, open and universal way.
Volunteers prepare their own dinners and weekend meals in the community kitchen at Casa Bosque. You can bring groceries from nearby towns or purchase homemade products from Wisdom Forest, including kombucha, granola, yogurt, fruit, grains, and other locally made items. As Wisdom Forest follows a vegetarian philosophy, meat, fish and eggs are not permitted on the property.
During your free time, you can also choose to join workshops, kayaking, guided adventures, therapies, and other experiences when available, offered at special volunteer rates.
Activities & Shift
Yoga is held Monday to Friday at 6:30 AM, followed by breakfast. Volunteer service takes place from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Afternoons are free to relax, explore, or enjoy your own activities.
Saturday and Sunday are completely free, giving you plenty of time to explore the Amazon, visit nearby waterfalls, or simply enjoy Wisdom Forest.
Optional workshops, adventures, kayaking, and other experiences may also be available at special volunteer rates.
Rules
House Guidelines
To honour the philosophy of Wisdom Forest and maintain a peaceful environment for everyone, our home is free from meat, fish, eggs, alcohol, drugs, and marijuana. We kindly ask all volunteers and guests to respect these guidelines during their stay.
Volunteers prepare their own dinners and weekend meals in our shared community kitchen. You’re welcome to buy fresh produce and groceries in the nearby towns of Tena or Talag, or purchase ingredients and homemade products directly from Wisdom Forest, including kombucha, yogurt, granola, grains, and other locally made items that help support our community projects.
