David was just lovely! Not much to say about this stay except that it was perfect.
But be aware if you have problems with sanitary facilities. The lavatory flush does not work properly but that wasn’t much of a problem to me! I loved the two dogs and I got my own room! Kitchen was always accessible, as was the washing machine.

The toilet flush didn't ever not work it was just slow to fill in one of the toilets. However the fill valve has been replaced and fills up now more quickly.

I had an amazing time staying with David. I felt so comfortable around him and at his place. David is a very kind person, has a great heart and listens to you, whenever you need a good advice. The yoga classes were great, something I was really looking forward to every week! You have to da lot around the garden and the house, so don't be afraid of getting work done ;). But that's what makes it so nice, seeing what you have achieved after a day of working is a great thing! Loved it in Peebles with David, Archie and Tyne, going to miss you three!

Amazing experience surrounded by nature!
I had a wonderful time volunteering here. We had a great team atmosphere and worked together really well. My main tasks included gardening, basic construction work, and helping with general cleaning and organization.
The location is absolutely beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a rewarding Worldpackers experience!

I had a great time! DC is such a wonderful host and truly generous person. He picked me up in Edinburgh and took me out for dinner, showed me all around Peebles and to such beautiful places. I really enjoyed me time here and treasure it as my introduction to Scotland <3 (Just a few notes to be aware of, the house has a lot of unfinished projects going and the toilet is very difficult to flush, along with a few other little things. If you are sensitive to mess then this may not work so well for you) Thank you so much DC for hosting me and showing me such a great time in Peebles!

David is an incredibly kind, generous and caring host, and he really makes you feel welcome and at home. The work was varied and very manageable: I cut and sanded wood, painted the fences around the garden and the house, helped with cleaning the house and the yoga studio, as well as with everyday things like cooking and doing the dishes. Nothing ever felt stressful or overwhelming, and there was a really nice, relaxed atmosphere throughout my stay.
And then, of course, there are the dogs! They are incredibly sweet, gentle and affectionate. Thank you for everything, DC!

I had a great time in Peebles. The town is so cute and the surroundings are beautiful! David is friendly and great to talk to, he'll explain how the tasks are done and make it different for each work day which is nice! Working coverups and safety gear is provided which I liked so my clothes don’t get dirty and I feel safe to do the job. David took us for a picnic and other spots around the area which I really appreciate. It's a good place to relax, go on walks, have great talks and chill with the dogs! (:"},

The accommodations were great—I had my own comfortable private room. The work schedule was very flexible, allowing for a good balance between helping out and exploring.
Peebles is a beautiful area, absolute perfection if you love walking, hiking, and cycling. I highly recommend this experience!

It is not easy to find your family when you are travelling far from home, here you don’t feel that distance. David is an incredible person, he transmits a beautiful energy, even with my language barrier because I am learning, we have had good conversations, he has made me laugh, and he has managed that I do not want to leave here.

The best experience I had so far. DC became a true friend in this month we spent together, one for life. The scotish borders region are fantastic, and David likes to take the volunteers to visit awesome places! The dogs are great characters, the house and surroundings are peaceful and welcoming, the yoga classes, which I did for the first time, were awesome and did a lot of good for my body, DC is a great teacher. Be ready to learn a lot about Scotland, Scottish culture and it's particular english expressions, you might get a little bit of accent during your stay 😅 100% recommend! 🤍🤍🤍
