Volunteering here has been an amazing opportunity to get to know local culture in Hanoi, meet great people and develop teaching skills. It's extremely well managed. The staff are professional and friendly. Living with the students means they get lots of practice speakingthe home with you. You can connect, share food, share experiences and get to know others' perspectives. There was a great mix of international volunteers to get to know. Highly recommend if you're flexible and comfortable with navigating shifting social dynamics amongst teens and adults of differerent ages and cultures.

My experience was likely a little different from others because I decided to stay in a nearby accommodation rather than the Enghouse itself, which I appreciate the hosts for allowing me to do so. The work for me consisted of about 1 main class per day lasting 1.5 hours, sometimes alongside a short 1 hour informal chatting session. I would usually spend a few hours the day before creating activities/worksheets for the main lesson. This was my first time teaching and leading classes independently, and while this was a new challenge for me, I learned a lot about teaching. I would recommend.

My partner and I stay here for 2 weeks and had an amazing time. The staffs were welcoming, and the students are friendly. We went out with the students a few times during our stay and had a lot of fun. The work was straightforward. They have a cat and a dog there which we enjoyed spoiling a lot. The main con for me would be that you need to shower at noon for the water to be warm since the water heater is powered by solar panels.

My partner and I spent two weeks here and had an absolute blast while teaching the local communitythe home! The staff was very welcoming and inclusive with volunteers. We were invited to occasional dinners or weekend activity with the students and staff like badminton on Sundays. We taught about 4-5 classes a week where the students were incredibly engaged and enthusiastic about practicing theirthe home! A lot of students were extremely welcoming, inviting us to go karaoke and go drinking on the weekends. Overall, this was an amazing experience with a dog and cat to keep us company!

Last year, I completed a TEFL course and was looking for my first experience teaching adults. Even though I had to move my plans forward and extend my stay in HCMC, I still chose to volunteer at EngHouse and it was an excellent decision!!! The program offers great benefits, such as a flexible schedule and a convenient location. However, the most valuable aspect is theexchange of teaching and learning. I leave very satisfied with the work I’ve done, grateful for the opportunity, and aware that learning is endless 💙✨️

My husband and I spent 2 weeks at Enghouse and it was absolutely a highlight of our time in Vietnam. Tyler, Angie and all of the team were very supportive and offered lots of guidance as this was our first experience teachingthe home. The students were engaged and it was a great opportunity to learn more about Vietnamese culture. The surrounding area is quite busy, but it's only an hour walk into district 1 to explore the main tourist attractions. Our main responsibilities were 90 minute sharing times, once a day, 5 days a week.

Overall I found our stay at Enghouse very enjoyable, I met several other travelers whom I found interesting and fun to spend time with. The locals we were teaching were often very engaged and passionate about learningthe home and about our cultural background, though the highlight for me was how much they liked sharing their favourite things about Vietnam and Vietnamese culture. The only downside for me was the heat and Ho Chi Minh City in general, it was too big and busy for me but the stay at Enghouse was was well worth the time in spite of this.
