I really enjoyed the stay at marilyns home and project. The tasks were so much fun, like painting, maintenance of garden etc, with Option to also do some more challenging handcrafts. The work with the kids was also fun and really made me happy because they were so cute. Marilyn was really worried about my wellbeing all the time and Tried to think of acitivities she cound include us volunteers in after work, like showing us around the village etc. We had a really nice community for the time i Was there, it was like living with a family. Thank you, Marilyn!

This experience was wonderful from the beginning 'til the end. Marylin lives close to a river, in a green area in the countryside. Her house is super. I shared my room with another volunteer. She has three social dogs and an independent cat. The missions were adapted each days depending of the weather. The project is in construction and the place needs to be adapted to welcome people. It was the aim of our missions. I loved this peaceful place and I found a family there 🫶🏽 Marilyn tries her best to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay. She is open-minded, dynamic and generous.

Something truly magical was born here: a place full of love, life, and spirituality, made to create and connect with the soul and nature. Together with the farm and LaMorada Silvestre, it was possible to build not only a project, but a true community, a family. I was able to learn a lot from the activities we share, from working in close contact with nature, and from cultural exchange. First Marilyn, then La Morada, and really Arbeláez as a town make you feel at home. Thanks Marilyn for being our mother in Colombia, to La Morada for opening their doors and heart, and to Arbeláez for welcoming us like never before. Now that I’m no longer there is when I realize everything I have had. My first contact with Colombia could not have been better. Marilyn’s project, everything it encompasses, and Arbeláez make it possible to truly live the day-to-day life of the locals on the farm. Right now, when I remember my time in Arbaelaz, everything seems like a dream. The sound of the creek, the trees, the cows and the horses, the mountains, the rain. It was a great experience, simply being part of this environment and feeling moved by it.
Marilyn, Emily, and the whole community of this project (humans and non-humans) welcomed me as part of the family. I will always carry them with me in my heart. The tasks are very creative, the food is fantastic, and you have many opportunities to go out and get to know the life of a Colombian town. What a blessing <3

My stay in Arbelaez was very rewarding; it helped me a lot not knowing what the objective was initially, because that allowed me to give myself the opportunity to be surprised. Marilyn makes you feel at home from the very first moment you arrive, and I value that a lot. The work, although sometimes hard, is very rewarding; it helps a lot to think about why you do what you do and you find yourself in that place. I also really appreciate the food; the truth is you do feel at home, and with Marilyn and Emily the stay becomes less burdensome.
