One of the best volunteer experiences we have ever had. The location and the property are amazing. The tasks were varied, not too difficult and always fun. We left with a real sense of achievement. Fredrik was the best thing about this experience. He is such a kind and knowledgeable human being and super down to earth. I learned a lot from him and would happily return to work with him again or just go for a couple of beers :-)

Fredrik is an amazing host. He always made sure that we were confortable and that we had everything we needed.
The tasks were varied and mostly outside. Work hours were respected and the schedule is flexible. My partner and I were working online at the time, and we didn't have any trouble in regards to wi-fi connection and quiet place to work.
The surroundings are stunning. There is a beautiful lake and forest on the doorstep of the house and there is another volunteering place closeby, so we could meet many people.
We would happily go back!

I don't recommend this place if u need peace & privacy given that their sauna can be booked til 11pm; 30 min from a supermarket; Communication with the host became difficult, and I didn't feel comfortable or supported during my stay specially when they were away and I was dealing with their Airbnb guests. The living conditions were not communicated during the video call, like the basement room without a window nor ventilation; we can hear very loudly footsteps, chairs, etc from 5 am, the experience ended earlier at the host's request, to leave in less than 24hs notice by SMS after 46 days!

Andreia, it is so interesting that we have had volonteers for years and you are the only one who has given us a bad review...Maybe it says something about you??? We are going through a divorce, while you were here and we have not put a review of you on how we felt for your sake. Your very unique experience and personality did not help us and I do think my ex-wife's 24-hour notice was not a good solution, but maybe ok after circumstance & had said you had options and I paid for your new ticket.

Staying with Friedrik and Janie has been a truly enriching experience!
PLACE 10/10 The place is beautiful, waking up with such a view every morning is alone an unforgettable memory. I had my own cozy space but Friedrik and Janie also invited me for fika or dinner upstairs with them ( Friedrik bread is amazing!)
HOSTS 10/10 They both are very nice, warm and funny, very passionate about their own things and always very open to chat and share experiences!
Also the animal family is really cute
WORKS You can really pick and choose based on your preferences! I tried a bunch of new activities!

Our volunteer work was more than great: amazing. The place is a paradise, from our room we can see the lake and the flowers that Jannie planted in the season. Fredrik opened the doors of his house to us and we were able to get to know him better, he was very kind to us and we even got to play cards. There was a list of possible tasks and we could choose the tasks we liked, in our case we did a DIY project, we painted, harvested potatoes and apples, cleaned and other miscellaneous things. Tussam, the cat, was a plus to everything we experienced there ♥️. 100% recommended

The place is stunning, there is a lake and the option to use a boat and stand up paddle boards. Tusan is a very loving cat and the hosts Fredrik and Janie are very kind. We shared more with Fredrik than with Janie, but we are still very grateful to Janie for sending us detailed information about the tasks we had to do even before we arrived. 100% recommended!

We had such a lovely time staying with Freidrik and Janie! They are two exceptionally kind people and made us feel so welcome in their beautiful home. Their property is absolutely stunning, and I still miss waking up in the morning to drink my tea out by the lake. We are endlessly thankful for their hospitality and wish them the very best with their project in the future❤️

El hogar de Frederik y Janie es increible, lleno de bosque, naturaleza y un gran lago en la puerta de la habitación que te dan, esta equipada con todo lo necesario, es confortable y preparada para el frio! No olvides comprar tu comida en el pueblo de la estación de tren. Nuestra experiencia fue muy linda, pudimos disfrutar mucho de la naturaleza, el lago cada mañana y las estrellas por la noche.
