I had a lovely experience at the hostel. The volunteers were so kind and welcoming and the staff was communicative. The work was also so manageable and I loved having an actual schedule so I could make plans and do things on days off. I would definitely recommend to volunteer here and had a great experience overall.

The best part of the hostel is definitely its people and the community feel. The volunteers bring such great energy and make everyone feel completely at home. A huge and special shoutout to Mirella, Leo, and Marcos for their kindness and for making the experience so memorable. If you are looking for a place with fantastic social vibes and friendly faces, this is it!

First volunteering, definitely not going to be my last one! I enjoyed every day at the hostel, as the team is warm & welcoming and I liked working together with them. The city is lovely, you'll have enough time to explore it and the places nearby, as the hours and tasks are well in line with was is stated on worldpackers. It is good to know your way around the hostel and stay on top of the tasks, but you will be introduced well to your workplace. Outside from the working hours there is a friendly environment between staff, volunteers, and guests, which made the time very special. Thanks!!

The experience was positive only thanks to the other volunteers. Otherwise, I can only point negative things. The workers and the owner of the hostel are unpleasant with us. The workload is excessive and tiring, unsuitable for a volunteering experience. The rooms, the bathrooms and the fridge for the volunteers are small and dirty, the breakfast is far from satisfactory. But what bothered me the most and that made me leave early (as other volunteers before) was the lack of security: there were several bad incidents with some guests, enough to call the police. I don't recommend.

My experience at this hostel was good. The most important thing is always the people you spend your time with day-to-day and I met wonderful people here. The city is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, so it's great to have opportunities like this to get to know it better. I’m not giving a 5 star rating because I feel the work is quite heavy for a volunteer; there isn't much difference between our tasks and those of the paid staff and it can get exhausting. But there are many positives; if you don't plan on staying a really long time, you won't burn out, and your experience here will be good :)

Mexicans are NOT welcome. Unequal treatment vs EU volunteers is evident. The small and dirty room is unacceptable 4 people living there. Breakfast doesnt compensate for the commitment they ask for, on top of that they get offended if you set limits, justifying that u are defensive. They dont have enough staff so the rules are unclear and unsaid. In a desperate but common day they offered me a mockery of 5€ x overtime, it becomes so tense when you say NO. Listen, volunteers deserve much more attention and security, here is unsafe and dirty, because the type of guest who come in, be careful.

We strongly reject the claim about Mexicans . We host volunteers from many nationalities under the same conditions. The issue was not your nationality, but your attitude, communication and cooperation. The shared room, breakfast and duties were part of the agreed exchange, and keeping the volunteer room clean was the volunteers’ own responsibility. The €5 offer concerned optional extra work, which you were free to refuse. Presenting a personal disagreement as discrimination unacceptable.
