I had an amazing experience volunteering at Yayasan Taman Widya Kumara. The host, Novia, is always very helpful and committed, and you can truly see how much she cares about the children and their future. I also really enjoyed our conversations about Balinese culture. We stayed for 2 weeks and had an incredible experience. Teaching the kids and seeing how excited they were when getting things right was rewarding! It was an extremely fulfilling experience and one we would recommend. One thing to note is the actual teaching hours are only 8 per week, rather than the 18 hours advertised. You teach 3-5pm Monday to Thursday. Apart from that the whole experience was amazing. Novia really cares about the children and helping them to improve. Mia, the homestay host was extremely hospitable during our entire stay and the breakfast she cooks is delicious!

Bu Novia and the staff were incredibly kind and made the experience easy and fun. I enjoyed the accommodation as well as getting to know all of the children. I would highly recommend this experience to any and all travelers, as the two weeks I spent with them will stay with me forever. I had the pleasure of being with Novia and the children for almost 3 weeks - a highlight of my time in Bali. The school is very relaxed and the kids are very energetic and sweet. It was an easy balance of morning free time and three days off a week, and I looked forward to seeing everyone in the afternoons. The school is located in a beautiful village, about a 25min drive from the organization so it was easy to go into town for anything you might need. The homestay I was at was lovely and I felt very welcomed and included by the family. I would love to come back one day.

This was a lovely stay. I volunteered from 2:30-5 and then we had Dinner. The Host and teachers Are absolutely Sweet and welcoming and the Children Are very polite and lovely. You can get a good View into the life of balinese people, they Are all very friendly. The homestay is clean has AC and a TV and the breakfast is very good and made by a very nice woman with whom you can have nice Chats. Her Children Are very cute too and love to Play with the volunteers.🥰 I'd really recommend this Place, especially if it's your First time volunteering abroad, Like it was for me. Thank you!

I absolutely loved this experience. Novia and Mega are incredible, and the kids are unbelievably sweet and eager to learn, which made every day so rewarding. I stayed for three weeks and honestly wished I could have stayed longer. This was a truly special experience that I’ll carry with me. Also, everyone at the homestay is very kind, and both breakfast and dinner at the school were excellent. I highly recommend this program.

I highly recommend this place. My experience was amazing I truly have nothing negative to say. Novia is always attentive and supportive. She and her husband pick you up from the airport and arrange accommodation in a lovely Pondok the organization the school and home, which is also very warm and comfortable. At the school, Novia works together with Mega, who is also very helpful, and there are usually around 20 children on average. The kids are simply incredible — they completely stole my heart. If you really want to contribute and help, don't hesitate to come. It's a truly special experience.

I had a great time here. The teachers and children are so kind and respectful, and the staff and family in homestay are also really friendly and nice. The school and homestay are close to the organization Central, so it was easy to go out. I enjoyed yoga classes and surfing whenever I wanted. I felt welcome the whole time and made wonderful memories. Special thanks to Novia. she supported me with everything. I would love to join this volunteer program again if I have a chance. Novia (host), Megan (local teacher), and the Balinese Children are the wonderful people you will interact with at the after-school learning center. Mia and her 3-generations of family members will be the hospitable people to interact with at the Guesthouse. Monday-Thursday (3 pm to 5 pm) are the teaching hours at the learning center. At all other times, you would be free to create your own schedule. The learning center and the guesthouse are in the same neighborhood. Novia, Megan, and Mia speak good English, so communication is going to be a breeze.
