Our experience staying with Hannes and Elena (and Ida!) was amazing. Hannes and Elena are welcoming, respectful, flexible, and generous hosts and all-around genuine, great people. They went above and beyond to take us on social outings, introduce us to friends, make sure we saw the surrounding area, and teach us about the local culture as well as their own. Our stay at Rosewoods was an experience where we truly felt we received much more than we gave, and we can't thank the Hermann family enough for the gift of the time we had with them.

My husband and I are so grateful for our time at the home. Hannes and Elena are generous hosts and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. It was a privilege to get to know them (& their precious dog Ida). Hannes prepares exceptional meals, so lunch every day was a real treat. Their property is so lovely and a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed spending time in West Cork getting to know the neighboring towns. Hannes so generously helped us experience the area, taking us to pubs, local landmarks, and introducing us to friends (he knows everyone!) Can't recommend enough!!

Hannes was such a lovely host, chef and personal tour guide. He is a very sweet man and I immediately felt at home. When not working I had my own personal space. Hannes is an amazing cook, and we had lovely lunches together. Also on our off time he introduced me to many of his friends , taking me around to local restaurants and pubs. He also took me to some beautiful site seeing places in the area. A ferry ride to one of the near by islands, the farmers market and beautiful rides through the countryside. The beach is right across the road with a short walk down a beautiful path.

The work was exactly as described, with fair and flexible hours. they home is peaceful, surrounded by nature, and truly beautiful. I couldn't recommend this place more and would happily return. I was so grateful to have my first Worldpackers experience in Hermann family. Hannes and Elena are most considerate and generous host that make me feel so wellcomed and valued here. Hannes is a passionate gourmet cook and make delectable dishes. The daily task is simple and easy to discuss, Hannes is also a great tour guide，I could visit the amazing natural landscape. Ida is the mostly adorable 🐶🐾 and Tosco, Mona & Sofie 🐈 bring joy into my each day. The suited room is very comfortable. Enjoy my stay here a lot! Surely 100% recommend Hannes as the incredible host for volunteering Ireland.

The home is the most wonderful place to be in all of Ireland and beyond. I experience the home to be a nature sanctuary of sorts and consistently feel spiritually uplifted just being here. Absolutely idyllic so it is. The Hermann family -- Hannes, Elena, and their son Gleb -- are the most kind, caring, congenial and friendly people. It is always such a joy being with them and not only do I count them as being my friends, I even consider them to be my extended family. The Rosewood experience is such a welcoming and positive place. We had set hours each day and the weekends off, the communication was clear and we worked together to make plans . Our host Hannes is an amazing cook and created incredible dishes for us to try. The location was magical, with a quick 10 min walk to the beach. On the weekends we got to explore local landmarks and Hannes was a great tour guide. I would 100% recommend this program to my fellow volunteers.

Hannes and his family were wonderful to Volunteer for. The weather during our stay was not great but Hannes adapted and always kept our mornings busy.
The beach is always worth the 10min walk no matter the weather. Although we where quite rural Hannes ensured that we got to see quite a bit of the local landscapes, landmarks, towns and events.
Hannes cooking was always delicious and was very accomidating to my dietary needs (lactose intolerant). The room was spacious with an ensuite which gave ample privacy and space during our stay.
Would 100% recommend Hannes as a host for all volunteers!

I had a lovely time at Hannes and Elena's home. Hannes cooked some of the best food I have ever eaten in my life and had my own en-suite double room which was so fancy! Hannes, Elena and their son Gleb were very kind, knowledgeable and accommodating. It was a really special place to rest and explore a beautiful area of Ireland via swimming and sauna-ing at the local beach, hiking and even going on some lovely road trips with Hannes! I worked mainly pruning roses and weeding which was very easy and satisfying. Recommend 1000% thank you again. 😊

It was the best experience I've ever had! Hannes and Elena took great care of me and I really felt like home. It was like a summer vacation at my grandparents' house because they made me feel like their granddaughter. The food was amazing and you definitely won't be hungry. I improved my English, and if you speak German, you'll probably improve that too. The cats and dogs were super cute and curious! I totally fell in love with Ireland and this place—the views were just breathtaking. I couldn't imagine a better place for my first Worldpackers experience!
